THE NEW DICE MONITOR

November 2023 EDITION

My Vision

The Video Monitoring Revolution: Subscription-Based Models

Previously, I have shared how The New DICE has a vision for the future of monitoring, especially when it comes to interactive video. Now I would like to share another part of the vision: Subscription-based services.

This is nothing new for those who are subscribed to Netflix, Microsoft Office, Adobe and other streaming services and software. But it is a new idea for when it comes to security systems and video monitoring.

The traditional model of purchasing equipment or software outright and paying for licensing fees is gradually giving way to a subscription-based approach. This transformative trend is permeating various industries, and our industry will be no exception.

Why the Subscription Model

The subscription model's surge in popularity can be attributed to several

compelling factors.

It offers consumers greater flexibility and accessibility, eliminating the upfront

costs associated with traditional ownership. This makes it an attractive option

for individuals and businesses, especially those with limited budgets.

Subscribers gain access to the latest features and updates without incurring additional expenses. Ongoing innovation ensures that they remain at the forefront of technological advancements, maximizing their return on investment.

By continuously engaging with subscribers and gathering feedback, providers can refine their offerings, tailoring them to the specific needs and preferences of their clientele. This is something DICE has been doing for years, apart from

the subscription-based model.

Let's go back to my example of Netflix. Netflix saw the future, whereas Blockbuster (remember them?) did not. We don't have to leave the house to rent a movie and return it at a specific time anymore. Who doesn't appreciate the benefits of Netflix today?

The Future

The subscription model will undoubtedly revolutionize our industry. Just like

Netflix, Microsoft, it emphasizes on flexibility, accessibility, and continuous value. As technology continues to evolve, subscription-based models are poised

to become the dominant force in the video monitoring landscape, shaping the

future of security. The New DICE has already seen the future and has

begun!

Matrix and the Video Monitoring Subscription Model

Traditionally, the implementation of Video monitoring systems involved substantial upfront costs for hardware, software, and licensing fees. However, The New DICE has seen the future of subscription-based models, and we are offering a more accessible and cost-effective approach for central stations, integrators, and end users with Matrix.

Businesses and individuals can now benefit from advanced video monitoring capabilities without the burden of upfront costs and ongoing maintenance.

The Benefits of Subscription-Based Video Monitoring

Reduced Upfront Costs: Subscription-based models eliminate the need for large upfront investments, making video monitoring more affordable for businesses and individuals. This allows them to allocate their resources more effectively and prioritize other aspects of their operations.

Scalability and Flexibility: Subscription plans can be tailored to specific needs and can be scaled up or down as requirements change. This flexibility ensures that users are only paying for the features and services they need, preventing unnecessary expenses.

Regular Updates and Maintenance: Subscription-based models often include ongoing maintenance and software updates, ensuring that the system remains secure and up-to-date with the latest technological advancements. This eliminates the hassle of manual updates and ensures that users benefit from the latest features and security patches.

Remote Access and Monitoring: Subscription-based video monitoring systems often provide remote access and monitoring capabilities, allowing users to check in on their premises from anywhere with an internet connection. This real-time visibility enhances security and peace of mind.

Predictable Expenses: Subscription-based models offer predictable and consistent monthly or annual costs, making it easier for businesses to budget and manage their security expenses. This predictability helps in financial planning and resource allocation.

Data Security and Privacy: A good subscription-based model adheres to strict data security and privacy standards. This includes measures to protect data from unauthorized access and breaches.

Technical Support and Customer Service: A good subscription-based model will be from a company that is responsive and knowledgeable and offers technical support to address any issues that may arise. This ensures that the system remains functional and secure.

As technology continues to evolve, we can expect the subscription model to become even more pervasive, transforming our industry and redefining our relationship with products and services.
