| | We Did It! Together, We Raised $50,000! | Our community came together to Drive Care Forward, and we reached our $50,000 fundraising goal! | | |
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, we’ve reached our goal of raising $50,000 to help fund the accessibility modifications for a new specialized transportation van.
Every donation, share and show of support helped make this possible. Your generosity will help Community Care continue providing safe, accessible transportation for people who rely on us to get to medical appointments, treatments, community programs and other important destinations.
For individuals and families across the City of Kawartha Lakes, these rides mean more than getting from one place to another. They mean access to essential care, greater independence and staying connected to the people and activities that matter most.
| | Our Journey Doesn't Stop Here! | | |
Although we’ve reached our $50,000 goal, the need for accessible transportation continues to grow. Each new specialized van costs more than $120,000 before accessibility modifications, and ongoing support helps us continue meeting the needs of our community.
If you’d still like to contribute, donations are always welcome and will help support Community Care’s transportation services and the people who depend on them.
Thank you for being part of this incredible community effort. Together, we’re helping keep care within reach.

Why I Give - When Care Becomes Family
| | |
Written by Heather (Peter's Wife).
When I look back on the years I shared with my husband Peter, I remember so many things. Among those memories are also the people who became part of our lives through Community Care.
Peter came to Canada from Holland in 1957 and became a Canadian citizen in 1965. We were married in 1961, and together we built our life in the community.
It was a friend who first introduced me to Community Care. She was a monthly donor and told me about the organization and the services they provided. At the time, I had no idea just how important Community Could become to Peter and me.
