Families with children interested in creating their own street art for the I Madonnari Italian Street Painting Festival are invited to pick up free boxes of chalk this Saturday at a “drive through” event sponsored by Village Properties Realtors. Village Properties staff members and members of the Children’s Creative Project arts education organization will hand out 1,000 boxes of children’s chalk between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 29. The event will take place at Village Properties’ Santa Barbara office parking lot (1436 State Street, off Micheltorena Street). Families are encouraged to use the chalk to create their own “Kids Square” art pieces on their driveway or neighborhood sidewalk for the I Madonnari festival, which runs throughout the May 29 to 31 Memorial Day weekend. Have your Business Featured in the Solstice Blooming Art Guide in the Month of June

In lieu of this year’s annual Summer Solstice parade and festival a special “Blooming Art Gardens Guide” highlighting all the decorated homes, businesses, and the locations of the Solstice art installations is under development.
To have your business featured, get assistance with decorating from local volunteers and artists, email Jinny at
Deadline to be included in their Blooming Gardens Guide (for free, though sponsorship is welcome) is May 28.

Long time Solstice Artist Claudia Bratton has created a bright and beautiful display at her house on Bath Street, with the help of Solstice Artist Carlos Cuellar, as our first Blooming Garden art installation. Claudia’s home has bloomed early as a demonstration of what a Blooming Garden decorated house can look like! Walk by her home at 1128 Bath Street to see our first Solstice Bloom!
These Blooming Garden art installations will be popping up around town come June, so keep an eye out for all of our colorful blooms. Learn more at:
Your business can also be featured in the Virtual State Street Parade June 4 & 5. Learn more and schedule your appointment to be filmed at the link below.
