Sheriff's Office Recieves Grant From CenterPoint Energy

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Harrison Township Substation, has been awarded a $2,000 grant from CenterPoint Energy's Community Safety Grant Program. This generous support will go towards purchasing safety equipment for our deputies to use while out on various calls.

We're immensely grateful to CenterPoint Energy for their commitment to community safety and their recognition of our mission. This grant will make a significant impact in enhancing the safety of not only our deputies, but our community.

Thank you, CenterPoint Energy, for your partnership and belief in our cause. Together, we're building a safer and stronger community.

New Signs on the Block

Harrison Township Services Department will be putting up or replacing a total of 35 signs around the township to define it's borders.

These entrance signs will help reduce any confusion regarding where specific neighborhoods or communities begin. These signs will be specifically helpful to motorists entering and leaving the township.

Additionally, these signs are beneficial for conveying community brands and letting visitors know they are in the township. They will help direct visitors around the property and grounds.

This sign (left) is located as you enter the township at Embury Park Road and North Dixie Drive in Northridge.

Sit or Play: New Benches in Township Parks

Harrison Township Services Department installed 12 new park benches at both Sinclair and Shiloh Parks on Tuesday, July 11.

Eight red park benches were strategically placed around Sinclair Park and four blue park benches were installed at Shiloh Park. The color of the park benches matches the playground and other structures at both parks.

These benches were put up as an effort to rebuild what was lost in the 2019 Memorial Day Tornadoes. Sinclair Park was severely damaged after the severe weather tore through the township.

Four years later, the community is stronger than ever and the township is 97% recovered from this devastating weather catastrophe, but there's still work left to do.
