A VIDEO MESSAGE FROM THE RECTOR
In this week’s video, Fr. Andrew shares excitement for a joyful and meaningful Mother’s Day weekend at
St. Gregory’s. Along with the Brothers of St. Gregory’s special Mother’s Day Brunch, the parish will welcome Bishop Gregory Rickel as 26 young people and adults are confirmed, received, or renew their vows in the life of the Church. Fr. Andrew invites everyone to join in this beautiful celebration of faith, fellowship, and community at
St. Gregory’s this Sunday.

ST. GREGORY'S WELCOMES
THE REV. MARY ELLEN CASSINI, D.MIN.
After a thoughtful and prayerful search, St. Gregory’s is delighted to announce that The Reverend Mary Ellen Cassini, D.Min., has accepted the call to serve as Assistant to the Rector, beginning this summer. Rev. Mary Ellen currently serves as Associate Rector at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, where she has been a valued member of the clergy team since August 2024. A South Florida native, she grew up in Miami and holds a Doctor of Ministry in Practical Theology from Barry University. She brings a deep love for parish life, a warm and engaging pastoral presence, and a genuine passion for sharing the spirit of Christ in the community. Her vocational journey includes leadership roles at Miami Country Day School, Saint Andrew’s School, St. Christopher’s Montessori School, and Palmer Trinity School, as well as parish ministry at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church—experience that has shaped a thoughtful, compassionate, and grounded approach to ministry. Outside of her work, Rev. Mary Ellen enjoys time with her husband, Charley, reading, walking her Cocker Spaniel, Simba, and being with family and friends. Her gifts, energy, and pastoral heart will be a true blessing to St. Gregory’s, and we look forward to warmly welcoming her on June 1.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
RISE AND SHINE
| |
| | | Last Sunday, we had our final Rise and Shine worship service before our normal summer break. This worship takes place on the first Sunday of every month in Harris Hall and is especially designed to encourage the faith of our children and families. At this service, children read the lessons, lead the prayers of the people, and serve as greeters. This Sunday, one of our children volunteered to serve as a junior altar guild member and, in a blessed coincidence of divine serendipity, was clothed in a dress that exactly matched the dress of one of our adult altar guild members! The music is lively and includes movements of arms and hands, which Rev. Robyn introduced during her time of leadership. A special craft is always included to encourage creative engagement with the theme of the scripture readings and the liturgical season. All this holy ministry happens because there is a dedicated team of adults, including Hannelene Beillard, Silvia Hall, Victoria Hanna, Kim Ouellette, and Emily Gonzalez, who serve as our "Rise and Shine" ministry support team. I also want to give a shout-out to Fr. Craig Burlington, our Clergy Associate Emeritus, who volunteers to assist with communion and be a beloved priestly presence with our children and families. This past Sunday, Fr. Ben Anthony provided the liturgical leadership, and Anita Sherman led the children's sermon. This dedicated group of ministry leaders is truly making a difference in the lives of our children and families. Thank you!
In Christ,
Andrew+

A SPECIAL RISE AND SHINE SURPRISE!
A sweet moment at Rise and Shine this Sunday! Our junior altar guild helper, Isabella Sophia Beillard, was all smiles as she assisted with preparations alongside her twin, Pauline Goosby. In a wonderful surprise, they discovered that Pauline’s granddaughter shares the beautifully mirrored name Sophia Isabella and is about the same age as Isabella! A joyful reminder of the meaningful connections and small blessings that so often bring our St. Gregory’s family together.

FROM THE TREASURER
Our results for Q1 2026 have been satisfactory. Total revenue for the first quarter was $670k, which was $3k better than planned. Pledge revenue was $8k better than planned. On the expenditures side, we were $5k under plan for the quarter. As expected, our revenues exceeded expenditures for the quarter by $248k, which was $8k better than planned. As a reminder, we collect about 40% of our total Pledge revenue in the first quarter, while our expenses are fairly constant each month. I expect that our expenses will exceed revenues in Q2, and by September, we will be at break-even. Our full-year plan has us at a small surplus by year's end. If you would like more details on our financial results, please see the Vestry Meeting package that is available for review in Harris Hall.
I want to thank all of our parishioners for their continued support of St. Gregory’s and its many ministries.
Blessings,
Gary Paris
Treasurer

A MESSAGE FROM TIM
If you’ve never attended Choral Evensong, our final one of the season will be May 24, Pentecost! This service will be a culmination of the Easter season as we will celebrate the Ascension of our Lord and the Day of Pentecost and will feature the majestic and powerful anthem by Gerald Finzi, “God has Gone Up!” I hope you’ll plan to attend and bring your friends!
This Sunday, we welcome Bp Gregory Rickel to both the 8 and 10 am services with confirmations taking place at the 10. The Choir will sing a setting of the text “I will not leave your comfortless” by Evertt Titcomb, and a setting by Thomas Tallis of “If ye love me, keep my commandments”. Both are derived from our Gospel reading, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, because he abides with you, and he will be in you. I will not leave you orphaned; I am coming to you.”
I’ll see you Sunday!
Easter Blessings!
Tim

SCAM ALERT:
SPOOFING AND PHISHING ARE ON THE RISE
We have recently been made aware of scammers spoofing St. Gregory’s personal and church office email addresses. If you ever receive an email or text that seems unusual, urgent, or requests personal or financial information, please do not respond or click on any links and alert the church office at your earliest convenience. Unfortunately, these scams are becoming increasingly sophisticated.
When in doubt, pause and double-check the authenticity of the sender and contact the church office at office@st-gregorys.com. We are always here for you.
Additionally, The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles warns of widespread “DMV” text scams—please remember they will never contact you by text demanding payment or threatening suspension. Learn more from the FLHSMV Scam Alert page
The Federal Bureau of Investigation advises that phishing and “smishing” (text-based scams) often try to create urgency to trick you into clicking malicious links or sharing sensitive information. The safest approach is simple: stay alert, don’t click, don’t reply, and verify through official sources. Learn more at: Spoofing and Phishing — FBI

RESERVING ALTAR FLOWERS
TO HONOR A LOVED ONE
OR SPECIAL OCCASION
| |
Each Sunday, as we walk into the church, we are greeted by the beauty of our surroundings. In addition to our newly remodeled space, we now have stunning frontals for each church season, enhancing our worship environment. The flowers at the altar further enrich our worship experience. Sponsoring altar flowers on any given Sunday is a meaningful way to honor a loved one on their birthday, celebrate an anniversary, or pay tribute to someone special. The cost to sponsor flowers is $300. Your generous donation helps offset the cost of the flowers, and when multiple families sponsor together, the cost may be shared. The flowers serve as a beautiful and lasting expression of love and remembrance.
To learn more or to get the process started, please email the church office at office@st-gregorys.com.
