Your Beth El Family joyfully invites you to celebrate a very special simcha.

Couples who are celebrating anniversaries this year ending in a 5 or a 0 ( for instance, a 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th... anniversary) will be called to stand beneath our chuppah for a brief recommitment ceremony.

If you are one of these couples please let Jacquie in the office know before May 12th so that we can prepare a small gift for you.

Please join us for coffee and bagels. There will be an election of officers and members to the Board of Trustees for a two-year term beginning  July 1, 2017, decisions on bylaw amendments to keep our bylaws in line with current best practices, and an update on our financial condition.

"ORCHESTRA OF EXILES"

In the early 1930's Hitler began firing Jewish musicians across Europe. Overcoming extraordinary obstacles, violinist Bronislaw Huberman moved these great musicians to Palestine and formed a symphony that would become the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.  With courage,resourcefulness and an entourage of allies including Arturo Toscanini and Albert Einstein. Huberman saved nearly 1000 Jews and guaranteed the survival of Europe's musical heritage. This documentary features commentary by musical greats interwoven with an array of marvelous film footage.

Yoga Shalom 
and 
Spirituality & Meditation

 
Yoga Shalom and Spirituality & Meditation meets every Wednesday.  Using a DVD with Cantor Lisa Levine and Carol Kurgoff, you will learn to relax your body, calm your mind, and nurture your spirit. We learn to use advanced, gentle chair modifications for each posture sequence.  Immediately following Yoga Shalom is an hour of Jewish Meditation & Spirituality for you to study and grow spiritually within a Jewish framework.

Bring your mat and we will see you at the next session on  May 10th at 10:30AM.
