CAP/Corbett's March eNews

From our Executive Director
|
After a long, cold winter, we're excited to partner with local gyms like
Roc Boxing
to launch our first ever
"Lift the Wait"
fundraising initiative, culminating in May for
National Foster Care Month
.
|
|
Track your progress as you lift weights or kettlebells, run, cycle, take an exercise class, box, swim, or anything else you enjoy to get fit, then contribute to CAP per weights lifted or time spent. Your support will help us bring more children together with a forever family.
If you belong to a gym, please encourage them to participate! We'll have more details on our Facebook page and in next month's eNews.
All my best,
Lauri McKnight

Dillon is a friendly teen who likes playing with cars and watching movies. He loves outdoor activities, exploring his environment, as well as pizza, burgers, and fries.
He also loves dogs and music, and is hoping for a forever family with a dog so he can help care for it. Dillon will do well with a supportive, caring, and open family. Please, be that forever family for Dillon.

In the News...
CAP/Corbett is thrilled about proposed legislation currently in the NYS Assembly,
Bill number A05494
.
This bill would establish the right of adoptees to receive a certified copy of their birth certificate upon reaching the age of 18.
CAP founders
Peggy and David Soule
worked on this as far back as the 1970s, and we hope to see the bill come to fruition.
Watch the WROC-TV 8
piece with Peggy and all the Soule sons!

It's hard celebrating another birthday in foster care without your own, forever family.
Please consider giving a permanent, loving home so that their next birthdays are celebrated with their own family.
