Minute in the Word

"In the Midst of It All"

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

May is busy. The final weeks of school bring full calendars, long to-do lists, and for our teachers especially, a steady outpouring of time, energy, and care. Their work matters deeply—shaping not just minds, but lives in Christ.

And yet, right in the middle of it all, the Lord speaks: Be still. Not because the work isn’t important, but because it’s not all on you. The same God who works through our teachers is also the One who sustains them.

So even in the busyness, there is rest. Not in finishing every task, but in Christ Himself—present, steady, and unfailing.

A new office window has been installed, our strawberry patch is underway, and workshop equipment has been delivered and is being organized for student use. School signage has been ordered, student furniture has been generously donated and delivered, and beautiful wall décor has been hung throughout the space. Even our 3D printer is up and running—already hard at work creating Field Day awards!

We are hosting a second Signing Day on May 4th! We have tripled enrollment! We now have 6 students enrolled at Christ the King--God be praised!

New Hire!

We are excited to share that Marie Sipes has been hired as our part-time Administrative Assistant at Christ the King! Her love for Christ the King and for Lutheran education is evident in her work supporting event planning, website updates, and daily office operations. She is a mom of three and the wife of Pastor Sipes at Immanuel Lutheran in Washington. She is also a graduate of Concordia Chicago, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Theology. With five years of experience as a Lutheran school teacher, we are thankful for the gifts she brings in service to Christ and His Church and are excited to have her officially on staff.

We're Hiring!

As we continue preparing for the 2026–2027 academic year, we have been thoughtfully conducting interviews and are looking to add a few more qualified, passionate educators to our team. If you—or someone you know—are interested in teaching at Christ the King, we would love to connect.

We are currently hiring part-time positions in Social Studies, English Language Arts, Health, P.E., Foreign Language, and a Band Director.

Pray With Us

"Jesus, Savior and Good Shepherd, who has given Your life to save us, You have directed us to feed and tend your lambs and sheep. Bless our students, schools, teachers, and staffs. Strengthen, equip, and encourage all who teach and all who learn, so that Your name is praised and honored as knowledge, skills and attitudes are imparted and acquired. Strengthen and encourage our students, schools, teachers, and staffs so they grow in faith toward You and in love to one another, that, by Your grace, they may be a light in a world held captive in the darkness of sin. Amen."
