June 4-10, 2017

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you the truth, it is very hard for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.  I'll say it again-it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God!"
The disciples were astounded. "Then who in the world can be saved?" they asked.
Jesus looked at them intently and said, "Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible." -- Matthew 19.23-26

Pastor Nathan Whybrew and our FFUMC conference representative, Jerry Hoss, will be at the 2017
Indiana Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. The conference will be held at the Indiana Convention Center in downtown
Please keep them, and all attendees in your prayers.

For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future. There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all." -- Ephesians 4.4-6

Tenderloin Dinner Desserts and Volunteers Needed
Our next Tenderloin Dinner is Saturday, June 17, at The Factory. We are preparing to serve over 700 meals for that evening, so we need desserts and volunteers.  PIES, CHEESE CAKES, etc. are needed for the dinners we will serve. If you attend regularly, please bring two pies/desserts to be served that Saturday to The Factory by 3 p.m.

A sign-up sheet is available each Sunday for volunteer tasks like scrubbing potatoes, setting up the dining room, serving the meal, breading the meat, dishing up desserts, working in the dining room during the meal, and helping to clean up. We hope there is a place you can help because it takes MANY hands to pull it off. See Bobbie Welker or call, 754-7693, to sign up.

2017 Garden Tour is June 24
You are invited to the 2017 Madison County Master Gardeners' Garden Tour on Saturday, June 24. Tours will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is $5 per person. The tours include a variety of gardens.

Don't miss our Sunday services on June 25. We'll celebrate our 6th through 9th grade students who will be confirmed.  We also will celebrate baptism that day.

Footsteps to Restoration: Indiana UM Children's Home
Gress Chapel at the Indiana United Methodist Children's Home was built in 1936. Over the years, the youth residents have found it to be a place where they can find peace and tranquility. It was discovered earlier this year that the building interior needs some tender loving care which included laying new carpet throughout.

The Home is asking 120 friends to purchase carpet squares so a fundraising goal can be reached. Each square is $100. Any donations above the goal will go toward future chapel renovations.  Just send a check to the Indiana United Methodist Children's Home, P.O. Box 747, Lebanon, IN 46052. On the check memo, please write "carpet."

Thank you for helping restore God's house!
