November 5-11, 2017

10 She went to the disciples, who were grieving and weeping, and told them what had happened. 11 But when she told them that Jesus was alive and she had seen him, they didn't believe her. 15
And then he told them, "Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone. 16 Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved." Mark 10-11, 15-16

Calling on Congregations
Several public service agencies including the Sheriff's Office, The Christian Center, Jane Pauley Community Health Center and others are recruiting assistance from the Madison County Faith Community.

These agencies want to establish a volunteer network of people willing to help with:
  • transportation to shelter, addiction services, mental health therapy or job interviews
  • transportation to work
  • jail programs requiring volunteers
  • life coaching and other necessities to help offenders turn their lives around
  • urgent help for persons in crisis

If you have a few hours a month to help, these groups can easily find a spot for you. The only request is to participate where you are comfortable.

There will be an informational meeting on Tuesday, November 7, at 6 p.m. at the Christian Center Chapel at the corner of 7th and Main in Anderson. Call the Sheriff's Office at 756-646-4401, and leave your name, church affiliation and a phone number to indicate you can attend this meeting.

1st Service Help Needed for 2018
You can volunteer with a friend or your spouse for the usher or greeter position. One person is needed each month to serve as liturgist.
First service attendees are needed!

Sign up to help with the service by volunteering to be an usher, greeter, or liturgist for the 2018 calendar year.

Two greeters, four ushers and one liturgist (who reads joys and concerns and leads the prayer afterwards) are needed for each month.

There will be sign-up sheets on the bulletin board at church.   The months will be listed on the paper. This is a great opportunity to serve in a volunteer capacity. If you have any questions, email Kathleen Mock.
