Get Out The Vote Postcard Party
in Pilgrim Hall

We will be preparing postcards that will be mailed in October to District 6 registered voters who did not vote in the 2016 Presidential Election. This is a non-partisan event. We want to encourage EVERY registered voter to exercise their privilege to elect their own representatives in Congress. We will have the cards ready for you and we will handle the mailing. We just need your help in writing a prepared brief non-partisan statement encouraging the voter to VOTE on November 6, 2018!

The postcard party will be held in Pilgrim Hall. There will be light snacks and beverages and lots of great conversation. PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND! RSVP to Chuck Lukavsky.

A free will offering will be taken to help defray the cost of the postage.

This event is being co-sponsored by the Service &Justice Committee, the DuPage United Core Team and the Social Justice Group.
Employment Opportunity at FCCGE
Nursery Care Coordinator

While FCCGE Nursery Care Coordinator Huong Luu is on her maternity leave beginning in mid-August, we will need a substitute to join Kathleen Page in providing a safe and welcoming space for our youngest members and guests.  If you are 18 years of age or older and love working with children from infant to kindergarten and are available and committed to work on Sunday mornings for possibly eight to ten weeks starting the end of August or beginning of September in this paid role, please complete a job application in the main church office and submit to Director of Christian Education, Catherine Curtis, who will contact you between August 14 and August 21.
Visual Arts Ministry

We are delighted to announce the opening of a new exhibit in our Artists in Residence gallery, this one featuring the work of Susan Thurber Jones. Susan describes herself as an advertising creative director by day, and mixed media artist, avid knitter, Chicago Cubs lover, and mother of three in her spare time. Her work in the gallery is a delightful collection of mixed media collages, representing "messy layers of joy, struggle, peace, and startling flashes of color patched together in the faces of people she's known and loved and the sights she's seen."
The work is wonderful. Be sure to stop down to see it! (The Artists in Residence gallery is in the hallway adjacent to and around the corner from the Parlor. Access it via the elevator to the lower level, or the stairs down from the library.)

Stock Gift Received

Morgan Stanley has received a stock donation, but FCCGE has no knowledge of the donor. If you recently gifted 104 shares of Ishars Morningstar stock to the church, please contact our Business Admin, Kimberly, so we may credit the donation properly.
