In Memoriam

Nancy DJangi

July 10, 1943 - June 8, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we share the news of Nancy DJangi's passing on June 8th. Nancy was a long-time member of FCCGE and was well known for many acts of service, among them, guiding many of our youth through Confirmation classes. Nancy was a delightful person with a great wit and sense of humor. We send our condolences to all of her family and friends.

Euchre 2022

June 11th a group of friends gathered at the Metzger home to play the annual FCCGE Euchre Tournament. The stakes were high, the prizes valuable, so there was much of gnashing of teeth and ripping of cloaks. Ok, part of that isn't true, but everyone had a wonderful evening!

Hold Onto the Goodness

Many roads to health and wellness involve doing the right things and not doing the wrong ones. Mental health is no exception. For all those fellow FCCGE likers of lists, below is a list of 25 tips for achieving a sustainable level of mental and emotional wellness.

25 Therapist-Approved Tips

Exercise Your Emotional Well-Being

We all know exercise has physical health benefits but did you know just how helpful it is for our emotional health? Or that it’s now considered a first line treatment option for depression? Knowing that exercise carries no stigma, there is no cost, and it’s easily accessible makes it an inviting option to try ~ pending a doctor’s input, as a standalone approach, or in conjunction with other well known treatments like therapy and/or medication. And - possibly the best news of all: any movement counts! Research hasn’t shown a difference in the degree of benefit from one form or intensity of exercise to another so you can adapt it to what form of movement you enjoy most. Read on for more of the science behind its powerful effects.
