NEW Sermon Series: Words of Wisdom

This week's sermon title: The Beginning of Wisdom
by Rev. Jeremy Lawson

The Book of Proverbs is one of the most unique books in the entire Bible. It doesn’t tell stories or recount history or include any commandments. No, the book of Proverbs contains 31 chapters dedicated entirely to wisdom. So what is wisdom exactly? And more importantly, how does anyone obtain such a thing? According to Proverbs 9, “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” This week we’ll look at what the fear of Lord is—and isn’t—as we seek to find Godly wisdom.

We look forward to seeing you either in person or via live stream this Sunday, October 17 at 9:15 am or 11:00 am.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday!

Back to the Basics Wednesday Night Study
with Pastors Jeremy, Jason, and Natalee
September 1 - October 13 from 6:30 - 7:45 - No signup required

Let’s be honest, we’ve all had questions about the Christian faith that we felt like we were supposed to know but were too embarrassed to ask. Questions about God or the Bible or certain doctrines of the faith like baptism, communion, or the Trinity.

Tonight is the last evening of our 6-week Wednesday night study with Pastors Jeremy, Natalee and Jasons. For the past few weeks, we have covered all of the most essential fundamentals of the Christian faith called, “Back to Basics.”

Tonight's topic: What do we believe about Jesus and our mission of making disciples?

This class will also be available ONLINE via Facebook LIVE, or YouTube

Please join us either in person or online via either Facebook Live or YouTube- No registration is required. We hope you can join us!

#4. Christmas Carolers Needed
Christmas Carolers Needed for Our Christmas Cantata
"Remembering the Story of Christmas"

Do you remember what a joy it brought to your heart last Christmas when after not being able to sing for so long, we were able to sing our beloved Christmas carols in worship?

Well, this year’s Christmas Cantata taking place Sunday morning, December 19th is based on our favorite Christmas carols and the inspiring stories behind them, and we’re planning to present the cantata with orchestra. But to balance an orchestra, WE NEED MORE CHRISTMAS CAROLERS IN THE CHOIR!

If you love singing Christmas carols, come to the Choir Room beginning October 5 and join us in our preparations for this wonderful cantata.

Chancel Choir rehearsal will go from 6:30 – 7:15 P.M. and Christmas Choir will rehearse from 7:15 – 8:00 P.M. Don’t miss this extraordinary Christmas caroling opportunity!

Interested, but have questions, or need more persuasion, reach out to Rev. Mark Locke at mark.locke@hmumc.org.
