#1. Worship This Week
Worship this Sunday, May 2 at 9:15 and 11:00 am.

Sermon Series: Building the Church
This week's sermon title: Hard Conversations
by Rev. Jason Mincey

We spend a lot of time in life trying to forget our worst moments, trying to outrun our mistakes. The past is just too painful to contemplate sometimes. But the only way we’ll ever get to a place of healing is through facing the pain head-on. Peter was not looking forward to this conversation with Jesus, but Jesus loved him too much to let him off the hook. And even though reliving his worst moment hurt every bit as much as Peter had feared it would, it also opened the door to redemption. It gave him the chance to decide how he wanted to be remembered from that moment on.

We look forward to seeing you either in person or via live stream, Sunday, May 2 at 9:15 am or 11:00 am.

Please note, we will have several baptisms and new members joining on Sunday so we will recognize and honor communion next week, May 9th so we can have time to celebrate these other significant milestones.

Reservations are required for in-person services and can be made via hmumc.org/reopening.

#2. Confirmation Sunday
Confirmation Sunday, this Sunday, May 2 at 5:00 and 7:00 pm.

This Sunday afternoon, 57 young people will confirm the promises of their baptisms and become full members of Hamilton Mill UMC. This confirmation comes as the culmination of over a year-long plus process of learning, exploring, and discernment with pastors, parents, dedicated adult mentors, and each other - both in person and then during a pandemic. This class of 57 students are current 7th graders but began this process during their 6th-grade year of middle school.

While these confirmands will be celebrated and recognized Sunday evening during separate services, we will baptize a small number of them and also welcome several of their families into membership at HMUMC Sunday morning. With these celebrations, we will recognize and honor communion next week, May 9th so we can have time to celebrate these other significant milestones.

Welcome, congratulations, and blessings to our Confirmation Class of 2021!

If you would like to watch their services, please join us this Sunday at 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm via our Facebook and YouTube pages and our website.

We look forward to this very special day in the life of our church!

In between services, we sanitize everything that is touched including door handles and anything that gets touched or sat on.

We hope to see you and your kids soon! As always, we're here for you with any questions!

Please register for Sunday worship at hmumc.org/reopening

Hope you're having a great week and we'll see you Sunday!

We are so excited to be offering a LIVE, IN-PERSON Vacation Bible School this summer for FAMILIES! VBS 2021 is going to be a fun-filled 3-day experience learning about God’s great love for each and every one of us. It builds a lifetime of memories, a family experience, and a solid religious foundation for all who attend.

Hamilton Mill UMC’s VBS 2021 will take place Monday, July 12, Wednesday, July 14, and Friday, July 16 starting at 6:00 pm and ending at 8:30 pm each evening. Extended families are welcome, and we will be practicing safe, social distancing enabling families to worship and have fun in their safe “bubble”. Please note this VBS is different as this isn’t a drop-off event –parents, grandparents, caretakers – you name are all welcome to be with their kids but at least one grown-up must be with a child.

#9. Wesley Woods Giving
Wesley Woods Mother's Day Offering
Sunday, May 9th

As we celebrate Mother's Day and the special women in our lives who have cared for and loved us, we are asking you to make a special gift to Wesley Woods. For more than 60 years, Wesley Woods, a ministry founded by the United Methodist Church, has addressed these issues with benevolence assistance, pastoral care, and wellness programming for older adults living in one of ten communities across North Georgia.

On Sunday, May 9th, we are doing a dedicated offering for Wesley Woods. You can participate on May 9th with the following:
  • You can place your check in the offering box or in our giving box outside and designate "Wesley Woods" on the "for" line.
  • You can give online at hmumc.org/give and click the drop down "Wesley Woods"
  • Or visit wesleywoods.org/donate.

Thank you for helping older adults at Wesley Woods age with grace.
