THIS WEEK'S NEWS

Save the Date! November 1 is Coming!

November 1 is All Saints’ Day, Pledge Sunday, and Communion Sunday. Remembering 70 years of faithful members with special music from choir and musicians. …and daylight savings time ends so your clock “falls back” to give you an extra hour of sleep!

Pledge cards have been mailed and should be in your mailbox. You may return them in the enclosed envelope by mail, in the offering plate on Sunday, or bring them to the church office. A prompt response is appreciated so that we can set our budget for next year! Our official pledge dedication date is Sunday, November 1. We hope you will join us for a very special worship service!

Many have requested a link to submit their pledge, rather than a good old-fashioned envelope. We get it! Please use this link to submit your pledge: bit.ly/HPPC2027Pledge Thank you!

Lone in Luke - Wednesday Bible Study

Join us as we study three stories that appear only in the gospel of Luke. We'll explore these texts in depth and discover what these unique narratives mean for our journey of faith. Meet Wednesday mornings (10/28, 11/4, no class on Veterans' Day, 11/18) at 9:30 AM in the Skylight Room.

Date Night Friday, November 6

Parents! Come drop your kids off and have some time to connect with your partner (or get much needed rest if you’re a single parent!). Your kids will eat dinner, do some fun activities, and watch a movie before you return. Pick-up any time before (not after) 8:30. All ages welcome. (infant and above)

Top of the Hill - Tuesday, November 10

This month, we’ll hear from Sabrina Votava, Executive Director of FailSafe for Life. While earning her undergraduate degree, two of Sabrina’s brothers died by suicide just six months apart. It was then that she made a commitment to working in the field of mental health and suicide prevention. Sabrina is an educator on suicide prevention and intervention who has worked with hundreds of individuals and organizations around the country to help them recognize the signs of suicide and to give them the tools and resources to keep a person in a mental health emergency safe. She is a licensed mental health counselor, certified as a QPR Senior Master Trainer and ASIST Master Trainer, and is the creator of FailSafe for Life’s various trainings. RSVP by signing up on the clipboard at the information center, replying to this email, or by calling the church office 509.448.2909. A suggested $10 donation covers the cost of lunch. We meet from 11:30-1:00.

In Case You Missed the Congregational Meeting...

At the congregational meeting on September 6, we elected our Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) who will be responsible for the next steps in our pastor search. Committee members are Curt Craig, Ione Felgenhauer, Kyle Ham, Kay Steinhilber, and Amber Wagenblast. Please hold this group in your prayers as they work to discern who God is calling to lead HPPC into the future! For more information about the search process and the PNC's responsibilities, see the handout at the information center.
