Volunteers Needed for St. Ann’s Lunch on August 16

For over 40 years, St. Ann's Catholic Church in the East Central neighborhood has provided a weekly lunch for people in need. Hamblen has partnered with Spokane Valley United Methodist to provide lunch every seven weeks at 1pm. What Hamblen needs is two volunteers from 10:40-2pm on August 16 to cook/serve/cleanup at 2120 E. First Ave. We also provide six dozen desserts (cookies, cupcakes, brownies, etc.), so we'd like 3 volunteers to deliver 2 dozen treats each. Call Dia with questions: 509-389-9858. Sign up here: https://bit.ly/StAnnsSundayLunch

Help Us Create a Calendar

The Earth Care Team is putting together a calendar, and we need your help! We would love to include pictures of you or other church family members caring for or enjoying nature! For example, river or neighborhood clean-ups; bins for sorting refuse; composting - so many different ways! We also would love you to submit your tips or processes you use to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Anything that helps the Earth!

Submit your photos and tips to: allan.scruggs@gmail.com or by clicking the link below. Thanks!

Earth Care Tip

Wash your car without wasting water. Use a bucket and a rag; don't let your hose run. Or take the car to a car wash that recycles water.

Craft "Leftovers" for Preschool Please

If you needed a sign to clean out your craft cupboards, THIS IS IT! The preschool is requesting any of the following you might have and no longer need. Scraps and leftovers will work perfectly.

  • Yarn
  • Ribbon
  • Gems or buttons or shiny things
  • Small jam glass jars with lids
  • Tin cans (clean)
  • Fabric
  • Lids from plastic containers like peanut butter or cottage cheese (clean). Aka Lids with depth.

A bin is in the narthex for these preschool donations. Thanks in advance for your help for Hamblen Preschool...and Happy Craft Cleaning to all!

Got Space?
