There is a small activity during the sermon on Sunday. Have this special highlighted scripture passage handy if you are worshipping online. It will be provided to in-person worshipers:

Phil. 1:18b-30, with many actions highlighted in yellow:

Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, 19 for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance. 20 It is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be put to shame in any way, but that by my speaking with all boldnessChrist will be exalted now as always in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain. 22 If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me; and I do not know which I prefer. 23 I am hard pressed between the two: my desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better; 24 but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you. 25 Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in faith, 26 so that I may share abundantly in your boasting in Christ Jesus when I come to you again.
27 Only, live your life in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that, whether I come and see you or am absent and hear about you, I will know that you are standing firm in one spiritstriving side by side with one mind for the faith of the gospel, 28 and are in no way intimidated by your opponents. For them this is evidence of their destruction, but of your salvation. And this is God’s doing. 29 For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well— 30 since you are having the same struggle that you saw I had and now hear that I still have.

Join us for In-Person or Online Worship!

We are now offering a 9:00 AM Sunday morning in-person worship service. We will be live-streaming the service on YouTube at the same time for those who wish to participate remotely (it will remain online if you would like to watch it later).

During the 9:00 hour, there will be in-person Sunday school for children in Kindergarten-5th grade, as well as nursery care for younger children. In the Sanctuary on Sundays, household groups will be seated together with space between families, and communion will take place the first Sunday of each month using factory-sealed packets.
Celebrate Pentecost with Us This Sunday!

The word Pentecost is Greek and it means "50th day." Fifty days after Easter Sunday, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and their followers, and the beginning of their earthly ministry to make disciples of all nations. Pentecost is the Christian Church’s birthday. This year it falls on Sunday, May 23rd, and we will be celebrating with jazz! HPPC will have guest jazz musicians Nick Schauer, Mikaella Croskrey, David Fague, and Dave Wakeley providing some spirit-filled music for worship. We hope you’ll join us for this special Sunday!

An Update from Our Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is grateful for the continued support of our HPPC members, even during its hiatus. Right now the choir plans to be back in full swing this fall when we kick off our school-year programs. We have greatly missed participating musically in worship, but look forward to September when we can do so again! If you are interested in joining the choir this fall, you can contact Kyla Fague at [email protected].
Star Word Experiences

In January, many of us embarked on a new spiritual practice. After hearing the story of the Magi following the star to see Jesus (Matthew 2:1-12), we were given a Star Word as a way to discover and contemplate the ways God was at work in our lives. We were encouraged to put our Star Word in a place that would remind us to reflect on it daily.

It’s now been four months since we received our words. We’d love to hear about the ways your Star Word is challenging, comforting, guiding, moving, freeing, or teaching you. If you would like to share your experience, please send a brief reflection to [email protected]. Click HERE to read our first reflection. We look forward to hearing from you!
