TONIGHT
Maundy Thursday, April 2
Prayer & Activity Stations and Communion
Join Us When You Wish Between 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Imagine that you have been invited to spend the evening with Jesus: reflecting, praying, listening and loving. On Maundy Thursday, rather than a traditional worship service, you are invited to take part in a series of unique prayer stations set up throughout the church, at your own pace and in whichever order you choose. Receive Communion, walk a meditation labyrinth, meditate upon the cross, and more(!) using all of your senses to imagine Jesus' last hours before death. Come - the table is open.
This event is open to all ages so bring your family and friends!

Good Friday Worship 7:00 PM
Good Friday marks the death of Jesus Christ. It is called “good” because of what Jesus’ death means for the redemption of the world. The Tenebrae service (literally meaning “darkness” or “shadows”) is an ancient practice of worship on Good Friday.
Journey to the cross this Friday evening through a powerful service with meditations on the last seven phrases that Jesus spoke from the cross interspersed with hymns, a choir anthem, and other musical pieces (including Johannes Kleinmann on the cello!). Experiencing the darkness helps us appreciate the light that Jesus brings at the Easter morning resurrection!

Let Your Voice Be Heard! Help Shape the Future of HPPC
Last week we launched our all-church assessment that will help us write our mission study—the next step in our search for a new pastor! The mission study uses input from as many people as possible to define our church culture and aid us in discerning our direction/vision moving forward. Describing what makes HPPC unique will help us find the best match in a new pastor. This is the time for your voice to be heard!
Here are some things to know before you begin:
- Everyone who calls HPPC their church home is encouraged to participate.
- The link to this assessment will only be active for 3 weeks, so please complete it as soon as possible.
- The assessment is called “How Healthy is My Church?” and is provided through Cyclical Full Circle, the group that is helping us with the mission study.
- You will be asked to give your name and email address, but when we receive compiled data from Cyclical Full Circle, your answers will be confidential.
- The survey is composed of 66 questions so plan to spend a few minutes taking it (the survey must be completed in one sitting; your answers will not be saved if you exit without finishing).
- If you prefer to fill out a paper copy, reply to this email and we will get one to you!
Click HERE to access the survey!
If you have questions or would like help filling out the survey, contact Heather in the church office at 509-385-0627 or hamblen@hamblenpres.org.

No One Can Thrive Without Food.
Right now, 1 in 7 people—and 1 in 5 children—don’t know where their next meal will come from. A lack of food has real consequences for their health and well-being. It’s a huge problem we can solve if we work together.
HPPC Bite2Go volunteers help deliver food to 2 local locations: Liberty Park Community Development Center and/or Hamblen Elementary once a week. It takes between 30-45 minutes of volunteer time per week. It's easy and helps SO many that are in need of food.
Are you concerned you might get lost? Karen Kelly has offered to share the ride with you and help teach other volunteers how easy this is!
Sign up links for each location are below. For more information, please contact Gladys Rivers at mooselady@comcast.net. Thanks in advance for your help!

Earth Care Team's Tip of the Week
Plan for April's Earth Day. Consider visiting local environmental centers or setting up a resource fair with handouts, seedlings, samples, and crafts such as making seed balls or mobiles from nature items. Look for a service-to-Earth project, such as trail or invasives clearing. Hold an outside worship service with liturgy on the theme of Creation Care.
Earth Fest at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge is a great way to celebrate with others from HPPC! (see above for more info)
