Last week, we started our sermon series “Come and See: Unexpected Encounters with Jesus” with an invitation to a new practice: Star Words. Those who participate in this practice receive a word to contemplate for the year. Star Words provide a way for us to reflect on how God is working in our lives, to see how we are called to grow in our relationship with Jesus, and to share with others how the Spirit is transforming us. Like those whose stories we're exploring in our sermon series, we may meet Jesus in surprising ways, ways that profoundly impact our lives. I look forward to hearing many testimonies of God's comforting presence, abundant goodness, and refining grace in the year ahead. Blessings, Pastor Jennie
STAR WORDS
In Pastor Jennie’s sermon on 1/3/2021, she talked about how words can challenge…comfort…give hope… The magi followed a star to Jesus, and it is our hope that this word will guide you this year, drawing you closer to the divine presence of Jesus.

Put your star in a place where you will see it each day. You may choose to look for a dictionary definition and/or see how the word is used in Scripture. Pray about your word throughout the year and invite the Holy Spirit to reveal God’s personal message of love and grace to you.

Pastor Jennie would love to hear your experiences with your word! You can share your stories with her at [email protected] or 206.794.0689.

To have a Star Word mailed to your home, contact Trina in the church office at 448-2909 or [email protected] and she will send one to you.
