Blessing of the Backpacks

(and Briefcases!)

Our annual Blessing of the Backpacks will be held on Sunday, September 10. Bring to worship the bag that you take to school or work. We will say a prayer for students, teachers/school employees, and anyone who wants some extra encouragement as we enter into the fall season. We will provide tags to attach to your bag as a reminder that God's got your back!

Join Deborah Circle

Deborah Circle is a ministry and fellowship group that meets on the first Monday of each month to make hats, quilts, and lap robes to share with those in need.

We will begin our 2023/24 year on Monday, September 11, 9:30-12:00, and we would like to invite all women to join us. Snacks and coffee will be provided. Questions? Contact Kathy Williams at 949-370-8025 or [email protected].

Top of the Hill

Join friends new and old for lunch and hear about how Spokane agencies are helping in our community. We start eating at 11:30, program begins at 11:45. Sign up with Heather Notske by the Friday before each event. Our next speaker will be Brian Seppi, Medical Director for Hospice of Spokane, on September 12. Save these dates for future events: October 10, November 14, & December 12.

Acolyte Training - September 24

Calling all incoming 4th and 5th graders! Are you interested in becoming an acolyte and assisting in worship services? We have a short meeting and training session for potential acolytes and their parents coming up Sunday, September 24, immediately after the service. We will meet at the front row of the sanctuary. Please respond to Kathy Williams at [email protected] if your child is interested.

Bite2Go

Once again we're asking for Bite2Go delivery volunteers to Hamblen Elementary on Wednesdays between the hours of 9 and 1. Bite2Go has been activated on the Sign-up Genius with dates up to Christmas vacation. All procedures remain the same, EXCEPT the pickup location. This year, pick up will be on Hogan Ave., on the back side of the Wolff Child Hunger Solutions Building. You can find a map and directions HERE. You can sign up to volunteer for deliveries at bit.ly/Bite2GoHamblen. Hamblen Presbyterian sponsors 20 students at Hamblen Elementary in need of weekend supplemental food. Thank you, in advance, for committing to this ministry, whether by delivery or monetary support.

Attention Parents and Guardians of HPPC Kids

As we move forward into the future of Children and Family Ministries at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church, we want to hear from you! The HPPC Children and Family Ministries Team values your thoughts and ideas as we help children know they are welcomed, loved, and called by God. Please take 5 minutes to share your feedback with us, by completing the survey at bit.ly/HPPCFamilySurvey.

You're also invited to join us at one of our vision sessions on either Sunday, September 10, at 10:30 AM or Thursday, September 14, at 6:30 PM. Childcare will be provided for both sessions. We look forward to sharing the results of this survey and collaborating with you to create a vision for the future of children’s ministry at HPPC. Thank you!
