Congregational Meeting & Potluck THIS SUNDAY

The annual congregational meeting and brunch will be February 26, after worship. All members and friends are invited to attend. The meeting will be brief. We will vote on Pastor Steve's terms of call, elect new leaders, and hear brief reports from staff members.

Immediately following the meeting, there will be a potluck brunch hosted by the deacons. The deacons and elders will provide breakfast casseroles. The church is providing sausage, milk, and juice. We are asking the congregation to bring the following:

Last name A through M

  • Breads (muffins, bagels, croissants, sweet rolls, etc.)

Last name N through Z

  • Fruit (salad or cut up)
WORSHIP WITH US

Use the season of Lent to return to the Lord and renew your Christian faith

You should have received a Lenten devotional in the mail this week titled "Drawn to the Cross." This booklet of intentional daily devotionals inspired by Henri Nouwen will draw us closer to the cross each day.

If you did not receive one or would like another to share with a friend, they are available at the information center in the main hallway. If you want to go a little deeper into the devotional, there are also daily questions available at the information center or HERE. You can use these personally or with a family member or friend. If you would like to join a small group, we will have two groups meeting through March to discuss the daily readings and questions:

  • Sunday mornings, following worship in the Skylight Room (March 5, 12, 19, 26, & April 2), led by Heather Notske. Childcare available if requested.

  • Wednesday evenings, ON ZOOM, (March 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29), led by Pastor Jennie.

If you have questions or would like to attend a group, please contact Heather at 509-385-0627 or [email protected].

Oasis + Caravan Sunday Sessions

We’re so excited to launch a new weekly program for our middle and high schoolers on Sundays following the worship service! This is a chance to dive deeper into our community and the Bible. We’ll spend time together hanging out, learning ways to better understand the Bible, and practicing tools to help us understand and apply what we learn.

  • Weekly from 10:00-11:00am each Sunday, beginning March 5
  • For both Oasis + Caravan

March Book Club Meeting

Join the Book Club on Thursday, March 16, at 2 PM in the Fellowship Hall to discuss When the Last Leaf Falls by Bill Myers. Pastor Paul Newcombe's life is a celebration of faith and family until his teenaged daughter Ally is stricken with cancer. As Ally lashes out at God for allowing her to fall ill and at her family because they are healthy, Paul's faith is tested as it never has been before. A touching tale of love and devotion interspersed with humorous anecdotes of a father watching his little girl grow up. For more information, contact Betty Thompson at [email protected].

OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED

Join the Snow Patrol

Colder weather is upon us! Our parking lot gets plowed when it snows, but we depend on volunteers to keep our walkways safe and clear of snow during the winter. If you would like to sign up in advance for a specific day that you would be willing to snowblow our sidewalks, we would love to hear from you! We have a snowblower, shovels, and de-icer. Training can be provided! Sign up for one day this season or volunteer for multiple days--your choice! If interested, contact Heather Notske at 509-385-0627 or [email protected] or sign up online HERE.
