SUNDAY EVENING, IN-PERSON WORSHIP
Join us for in-person worship on Sundays at 7:00 PM. Services will be held in the Sanctuary and will include communion (in factory-sealed packets) and instrumental music. There will be one household group per pew with empty pews between groups. Please note that there will not be childcare or children’s programs. This is in addition to, not a replacement for, our Sunday morning live-stream service. Register online here.

EXPECTATIONS FOR IN-PERSON WORSHIP
By registering for in-person worship, you confirm you have read and will follow the guidelines:
- Masks or face coverings will be required.
- By attending, you affirm that all members of your group are symptom-free and do not have a fever.
- By attending, you affirm that you have not been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID in the last two weeks to your knowledge.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be available.
- Families with children who may not be able to remain socially distanced with their family group are advised not to attend.
- We recommend that people in high risk groups not attend.
We are being safe because we love our neighbors and have a heart for those who are more vulnerable to the effects of the coronavirus. We are not taking precautions out of fear, but for the sake of the Spokane community and for those at risk. It is an act of discipleship to safeguard the lives of others.

NEW--OUR GUATEMALA MISSION TEAM IS AT WORK!
During this time of pandemic, our mission team has been praying for our friends in Guatemala and keeping connected virtually as possible. Our team met (outside, socially distanced) two weeks ago and spoke with Richard and Debbie Welch. The Welches are mission co-workers we have worked with extensively. They retired last month and we wanted to explore their ideas for future involvement in Guatemala.
The good news is that the Welches have retired from World Mission, but not from Guatemala. The difficult news is that safe travel (for us and for the Guatemalans) looks to be at least one year in the future and communications are very challenging.
At present, schools are closed. Teachers and students are working to send and return assignments via phone. Internet connections are undependable at times and families struggle with paying for minutes on their phones.
Hamblen has one more year of commitment to the Libros Abiertos program we began with La Libertad School in Coban. We are planning on fulfilling this promise when it is feasible to do so.
In the meantime, we hope, we pray for our brothers and sisters in Guatemala and we connect with them virtually to encourage them during this continuing crisis. If you have questions, please contact Mary Mattie at [email protected].

EVENSONG SERVICES CONTINUE, SEE SCHEDULE BELOW
a time of prayer, music, and reflection
Do you find yourself longing for moments of stillness and unstructured time in God’s presence during this chaotic and noisy time in our word? We invite you to attend mid-week Evensong on several Wednesdays during our sermon series, “Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow.” We will open the Sanctuary as a sacred space for quiet reflection, instrumental music, prayer, resting in God’s presence, and considering the scripture and messages from our sermon series. For those who choose to stay at home, the service will be live-streamed, which you can also watch afterward at your convenience. The service will be mostly self-directed. Bring your journal, your Bible, our sermon series follow-up exercises, or just yourself. Our final three services will be October 28th, November 4th, and November 18th at 7:00 PM. You can register to attend in person by clicking here or simply sign in at the service. If you prefer to experience Evensong from home, visit hamblenpres.org for a link to stream the video live.

DO YOU HAVE A HEART TO SHARE CHRIST'S LOVE AND
WALK ALONGSIDE PEOPLE AS THEY JOURNEY THROUGH DIFFICULT TIMES?
You're invited to consider joining the Congregational Care Team. This team provides one-to-one contact and encouragement for people in the congregation experiencing a critical situation in life. Team members give compassionate care, providing the ministry of listening, prayer, and, when needed, connecting people with resources. Please contact Pastor Jennie ([email protected]) if you are interested in this ministry opportunity.
OCCASIONAL DRIVERS NEEDED
Sometimes members and friends of HPPC need rides to the grocery story, doctor appointments, etc. If you would be willing to help get people where they need to go, contact Heather Notske ([email protected] or 509-448-2909).
