Come Sing with the Choir!

Do you love to sing? Then we have a place for you! The Chancel Choir starts again this September and sings through mid-June. Even if you can’t commit to the entire program year, come sing with us on weeks that you are able. Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 7:00-8:30 pm in the sanctuary, and we gather at 8:30 on Sunday mornings (a half hour prior to worship). Childcare is available upon request. Contact Kyla Fague at [email protected] or 509-270-6848 for more information or if you are interested in joining this great community. We begin rehearsing on Thursday, September 7. The choir’s first Sunday in worship will be September 10. We hope to see you in the choir loft!

Neighborhood Outreach Deacons' Request

Dear Congregation,

As Deacons of Neighborhood Outreach, we would like to explain that this program is donation driven. There is no set budget. Therefore, the many ways we support Hamblen Elementary, Liberty Park Community Development Center, Bite2Go, and Adams Elementary are dependent on your willingness to give.

As we begin this school year, we have already purchased school supplies for both Hamblen and Adams. Items they have requested include paper, scissors, markers, crayons, binders, and clothing/underwear for ‘accidents’. This does not cover all the requests but is our ‘drop in the bucket’ from Hamblen Presbyterian.

Bite2Go begins in September and runs throughout the entire school year at a cost of $400 per month for the 20 students we help sponsor at Hamblen. As we move into winter, we will provide gift cards to Hamblen & Adams at Christmastime and help organize/purchase toys for the ‘Toy Store’ at Liberty Park. In the spring, we purchase shirts and shorts for the Preschool at Liberty Park.

There are times we are asked if we can do more… It all depends on the funds we have. We are asking you to consider helping us build up the Neighborhood Outreach Fund by generously donating. Your gifts can be designated to go toward Bite2Go specifically or the general Neighborhood Outreach Fund.

Holding Space for Grief--New Support Group Starts THIS Tuesday

Join us monthly for a group providing support for those who have experienced loss and/or those who are walking through grief with a friend or family member. Group will be facilitated by Rev. Scott Kinder-Pyle, an ordained Presbyterian minister and a board certified chaplain, currently working with Gentiva Hospice. Questions? Ask Heather Notske [email protected] or 509-385-0627.

The HPPC Children and Family Ministries Team values your thoughts and ideas as we help children know they are welcomed, loved, and called by God. Summer Office Hours

During the summer months, church office hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 AM to 4 PM. We are closed on Fridays. As always, staff will be available for appointments and meetings beyond the posted hours.

All events meet in person unless otherwise noted:

Breakfast Before Church

Sundays at 8 AM

Join us each Sunday this summer for a potluck breakfast before the worship service. Don't have the time or desire to bring anything? Come anyway, there is always plenty of food!

Deacons will provide the milk, juice, and coffee, plus plates, bowls, and utensils.

Kids' Zone

On Family Worship Sundays throughout the year and every Sunday during the summer, children 3yrs-1st grade are invited to the Skylight Room for fun activities. Kids 2nd grade and up remain in the worship service with their families. 

Youth Ministries (6th-12th Grades)

It's summer break! Our Youth Groups will resume meeting beginning September 10. See you then!
