Use the season of Lent to return to the Lord and renew your Christian faith

You should have received a Lenten devotional in the mail titled "Drawn to the Cross." This booklet of intentional daily devotionals inspired by Henri Nouwen will draw us closer to the cross each day.

If you did not receive one or would like another to share with a friend, they are available at the information center in the main hallway. If you want to go a little deeper into the devotional, there are also daily questions available at the information center or HERE. You can use these personally or with a family member or friend.

Communion This Sunday

Communion will be observed this Sunday. If you are worshiping with us from home and would like to celebrate communion during our Sunday morning service, please be sure to have a piece of bread or cracker, and something to drink ready when worship begins.

Holy Week

Palm Sunday

This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week, when we remember Jesus' humble yet triumphant entrance into Jerusalem, where he was greeted by cheering crowds waving palm branches. We welcome Jesus in our worship this Sunday with joyful musical offerings from our children, Chancel Choir, Handbells, and Praise Band. Also, in this service we continue our monthly tradition of sign language interpretation! Join us as we begin to retrace Jesus' path to the cross.

Good Friday

On April 7, at 7pm, our Good Friday service is a solemn reflection on the final days of Jesus' earthly ministry, from the Last Supper with Jesus and his disciples, to his betrayal, trial, and crucifixion. Our Good Friday worship service will include music by our Chancel Choir and Handbells, featuring Spokane Symphony cellist Johannes Kleinmann.

Easter Sunday

On Sunday, April 9, He is risen! We will have two worship services, the first at 9:00am and the second at 10:30am. Our Easter Celebration will feature music by our Chancel Choir, Paise Band and Handbells, plus the joyful sounds of our Easter Brass Quartet. Our 9am Easter worship will also be enhanced by our sign language interpreter. Toddlers through fifth graders are invited to hunt for eggs filled with surprises at 10:00am!

One Great Hour of Sharing

We have the fun fish banks available again this year for kids to collect a Lenten offerings for One Great Hour of Sharing. These are available at the Information Center in the church entry.

Group Meeting Cancelations

These groups will NOT be meeting on the following dates:

• NO Wednesday Morning Bible Study on April 5, at 9:30 AM
• NO Journey Kids' Club on Wednesday, April 5, at 5:00 PM
• NO Top of the Hill on Tuesday, April 11, at 11:30 AM

Memorial Service This Saturday

A memorial service will be held at HPPC for Joan Biddison on Saturday, April 1, at 10:00 AM. The service will also be streamed at hamblenpres.org/live-stream.

Office Hours

Church office hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 AM to 4 PM, and Friday, 9 AM to Noon. As always, staff will be available for appointments and meetings beyond the posted hours.

Easter Egg Hunt

We will be hosting our annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 9, at 10 AM. If you would like to volunteer before the event to help with preparations or for the day of the event, please contact Cindy Dicken, Director of Children's and Family Ministry, at [email protected].

Ladies' Tea

Women of all ages will be invited to a Spring Tea on Saturday, May 13. Would you like to help plan this event? We need your vision, creativity, and joy! To join the planning team, please contact Janet Ray at [email protected].

Guatemala Team Visit to Coban

Our team is planning a visit to Coban, Guatemala, this August. We will spend time at the school, La Libertad, where we sponsor a literacy program. We will also visit another school in the area and meet with the education district superintendent to explore options for expanding the program and helping it to be self-sustaining. 

Our travel dates are August 19 through 26. If you feel called to go to Guatemala, or want to know more about this program, we would love to have you go with us. There's room on the bus for more team members!

Join the Snow Patrol



Colder weather is upon us! Our parking lot gets plowed when it snows, but we depend on volunteers to keep our walkways safe and clear of snow during the winter. If you would like to sign up in advance for a specific day that you would be willing to snowblow our sidewalks, we would love to hear from you! We have a snowblower, shovels, and de-icer. Training can be provided! Sign up for one day this season or volunteer for multiple days--your choice! Volunteer Opportunities

JAM (Jesus and Me) Children's Sunday School

J.A.M. Sunday School is right after the Children’s Sermon during worship. Each week, children ages 3 years through 5th grade will gather for Bible lessons. We have fun activities, skits, and wonderful messages planned! It’s going to be so fun!

Journey Kids' Club (K-5th Graders)

Journey Kids' Club meets Wednesdays, 5:00 to 7:00pm. We are so excited to spend time playing games, eating food, and learning more about God in this really wonderful time together! A weekly donation of $5 is suggested to help support the cost of dinner. You are encouraged to bring a friend!

Youth Ministries (6th-12th Grades)
