Hamblen Earth Care Team begins their work for the environment
A team of twelve people have met twice to discuss how an Earth Care team could make a difference in the congregation, the neighborhood and the world, when it comes to the environment. We have discussed the possibility of collecting and recycling glass, batteries and plastic that the city doesn’t recycle. We are educating ourselves on the efforts already going on in Spokane and how we can contribute to those efforts. We’ve also talked about ways we can raise awareness of this issue in the worship service, through liturgy and a possible liturgical season
focused on the environment. If you are interested in taking a more active role in protecting the environment, call Steve Sparks at (509) 954-7705 or Katie Haney at (509) 840-3456 and we can send you the Zoom link for our next meeting.
Next meeting: Monday, May 12 at 7:00 p.m. via Zoom

Top of the Hill
Tuesday, May 13 from 11:30-1:00 PM we welcome a team from Thrive International, a local organization dedicated to empowering multicultural communities. Thrive provides temporary housing, education, and other programs for refugees in Spokane. We’ll hear from staff members Melinda Manning, Pamela Thuswaldner, and Chelsea Segalla, and learn how their previous humanitarian and educational work prepared them for their roles at Thrive. We will also learn how we can partner with Thrive’s efforts toward building flourishing communities in our city. RSVP by calling the church office or signing up on the clipboard in the lobby. Suggested donation of $10 covers lunch.
