Dear Church Family,

This is a big Sunday. A new sermon series will begin. Our High School seniors will be recognized. There will be an outside activity to create gifts for a mom in your life or anyone you love. There will also be beverages and snacks outside. Join us in person at 9 AM or online.
Our sermon series will follow Philippians which teaches us how to find joy in every circumstance.

God's peace to each of you,

Join us for In-Person or Online Worship!

We are now offering a 9:00 AM Sunday morning in-person worship service; No Registration Required. We will be live-streaming the service on YouTube at the same time for those who wish to participate remotely (it will remain online if you would like to watch it later).

During the 9:00 hour, there will be in-person Sunday school for children in Kindergarten-5th grade, as well as nursery care for younger children. In the Sanctuary on Sundays, household groups will be seated together with space between families, and communion will take place the first Sunday of each month using factory-sealed packets.
Activities for Sunday, May 9

Senior Recognition Sunday: Come to the worship service and join us in celebrating our high school seniors and sending them off as they move onto a new chapter in their lives!

Spring Flowers: Following the worship service, join us outside where we will turn ordinary plants into a beautiful gift for a mom in your life or someone you love. There will also be coffee, beverages, and a small snack provided. Starting on Mother's Day, let's spread some love this spring!
Celebrate Pentecost With Us!

The word Pentecost is Greek and it means "50th day." Fifty days after Easter Sunday, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles and their followers, and the beginning of their earthly ministry to make disciples of all nations. Pentecost is the Christian Church’s birthday. This year it falls on Sunday, May 23rd, and we will be celebrating with jazz! HPPC will have guest jazz musicians Nick Schauer, Mikaella Croskrey, David Fague, and Dave Wakeley providing some spirit-filled music for worship. We hope you’ll join us for this special Sunday!
Youth Ministries Update

There will be no youth programs on May 9th or 10th in observance of Mother’s Day. We hope you spend some joyful time with family!

Beginning May 16th and 17th, our youth program will shift schedules. We will no longer be meeting exclusively as gendered small groups, but we will meet with all high schoolers on Sundays, 6-8 PM and all middle schoolers on Mondays, 6-7:30 PM. Come join us for a hangout, games, and some Jesus time! Visit our youth page at and contact for more information and any questions you have.
Top of the Hill Meeting Next Tuesday

Did you know May is Mental Health Awareness Month? At our Top of the Hill gathering on May 11 we have the opportunity to learn more about mental health from Mary Hawk, a licensed mental health counselor based in Spokane. Working with students and families through a special services program she created at an international school in Malaysia first sparked her interest in counseling. Mary’s passion for counseling also comes from experiencing healing and transformation in her own life. She has worked in private practice since 2003. Join us on Tuesday, May 11 at 11:00 AM via zoom. We look forward to a wonderful time of learning together! Zoom link will be emailed Monday. Please contact Pastor Jennie at with any questions.
Star Word Experiences

In January, many of us embarked on a new spiritual practice. After hearing the story of the Magi following the star to see Jesus (Matthew 2:1-12), we were given a Star Word as a way to discover and contemplate the ways God was at work in our lives. We were encouraged to put our Star Word in a place that would remind us to reflect on it daily.

It’s now been four months since we received our words. We’d love to hear about the ways your Star Word is challenging, comforting, guiding, moving, freeing, or teaching you. If you would like to share your experience, please send a brief reflection to Click HERE to read our first reflection. We look forward to hearing from you!
Acolyte Training

Fourth graders are invited to attend Acolyte Training. It will be held Sunday, May 23, at 10 AM in the sanctuary right after the Pentecost service. Contact Kathy Williams at with any questions.
