Advent Candle Making – 11/30

Immediately following worship on Sunday, we’re kicking off the Advent season by making Advent candles together! You’ll get to take home your hand-rolled candles and a short liturgy, and each Sunday celebrate the coming of Jesus by lighting your candles and engaging faith at home.

FREE Advent Devotionals

Available at the Information Center

Each day of this devotional invites you to draw near--to Scripture, to stillness, and to the heart of God. Each day's reading includes a Bible verse, a reflection, an idea for a personal activity to interact with the text, and a brief prayer. This devotional is suitable for individuals, couples, or groups.

Advent Poinsettias

Orders due by THIS Sunday

In past years, people have purchased poinsettias in honor or memory of loved ones to help decorate our sanctuary for the holidays. This has required a lot of hands-on care: watering, cleaning up dead leaves, rotating plants to put their best sides to the front, and maintaining the perfect temperature in the sanctuary to keep these fussy plants alive. The worship committee has made the decision to start purchasing quality, artificial poinsettias that can be used year after year without all of the stress and mess of live plants. To help cover this cost, this year and next year we will continue to have people "sponsor" a plant. If you would like to donate toward the Poinsettia Fund in honor or memory of a loved one, grab a form from the information center or the church office. Please return the completed envelope with payment ($15) in the offering plate or to a staff member by Sunday,

November 30 to have your tribute printed in the

bulletin for Sunday, December 7.

Soup Supper & Christmas Pageant from Scratch – 12/7

On Sunday, December 7th from 5:30-7:00 PM we will have our annual Soup Supper and Christmas Pageant from Scratch! This is one of our best events of the year, with great fellowship over a meal, vaguely controlled chaos, and the most fun way to celebrate the Christmas story! No rehearsal needed, just bring a soup or dessert if you can and get ready for some fun!

Congregational Meeting AND Party for Steve

Join us after worship on Sunday, 12/14 for a brief congregational meeting. We will be electing new officers for 2026 and honoring Pastor Steve’s service to HPPC. After the meeting we will have special treats for coffee hour. We will also host a “card shower” if you would like to honor Steve with a card and a special note. Steve’s last day at HPPC will be December 28.

Liberty Park Community Development Center’s Annual Toy Store

Toy Donations Due by Sunday, 12/7

Tis the season! It may only be early November, but it is time to start thinking about the Liberty Park Toy Store drive! Let’s take our thankfulness and pay it forward. There are 3 ways to participate:

1. Sign-up online https://bit.ly/LibertyParkToyDrive2025

2. Grab a tab from the display in the narthex to purchase specific toys.

3. Make monetary donations earmarked for the “toy store”

Drop your UNWRAPPED toys in the bins in the narthex. The deadline for drop off is Sunday, December 7. (The date of the Toy Store this year is Sunday, 12/13.) Thank you for your support to help these local kids!

Bite2Go Requests

Bite2Go volunteers are always needed and appreciated! Delivery sign ups are below for both Hamblen Elementary and Liberty Park. Thanks in advance for your help!

Additionally, Bite2Go is in need of funds. It is a great ministry helping children with food for the weekends. Any contributions are greatly appreciated. Please write "Bite2Go" in the memo line of your check. Thank you greatly for your help. - Your Neighborhood Deacons

Children's Sunday School (3-yrs - 5th Grade)

Sunday School is right after the Children’s Sermon during most worship services throughout the school year. Each week, children aged 3 years through 5th grade will gather for Bible lessons. We have fun activities, skits, and wonderful messages planned!

Kids' Zone (3-yrs - 1st Grade)

On mornings with no Sunday School, and every Sunday during the summer, children 3yrs-1st grade are invited to the Skylight Room for fun activities. Kids 2nd grade and up remain in the worship service with their families.

Journey Kids' Club (1st-5th Grade)

Journey Kids' Club meets Wednesdays, 5:00-7:00 PM, October--May. We are so excited to spend time playing games, eating food, and learning more about God in this really wonderful time together! A weekly donation of $5 is suggested to help support the cost of dinner. You are encouraged to bring a friend!
