MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR
BLUEGRASS WORSHIP
NEXT Sunday, September 20
Live-Streaming at 10:00 AM
We are kicking off our new church-wide series "Strength for Today, Hope for Tomorrow" NEXT Sunday, September 20. Join us on YouTube at 10 AM to hear special music (including a bluegrass band!) and the first sermon in a series that will lead us on a journey to grow closer to Jesus through this pandemic season and beyond. All ages, children through adults, will be focusing on the same theme each week. A sermon follow-up exercise will be available to use as individuals and as a discussion starter for groups. Watch your mail for a newsletter that will explain more!

We hope that everyone who is connected to HPPC will find time to explore what it means to gain strength and comfort from a relationship with Jesus!

NEW--CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL
ACTIVITY PACKET PICK-UP THIS SUNDAY

Both Jesus and Me (JAM) and Every Day God Encounters (EDGE) Sunday Schools will be using the same activities until we are able resume in-person Sunday School.

There will be a pickup of Sunday School activity packets at HPPC THIS SUNDAY, September 13, 1:00 to 2:00 pm. You can also drop off your child’s registration card at that time.

In the packets will be dirt (yes I said dirt ), a plastic container, popsicle stick, planting disk, styrofoam cup, seeds and activity pages. These materials will be used over the next four weeks. You will be receiving an email each week with fun activity videos and music videos that correspond to the materials in the packets you will pick up.

As an added bonus, when you stop by the church for your packet, everyone in your car will receive either a frozen popsicle or ice cream dessert.

If you are unable to stop by at that time, please contact Joe Bruce at joeb@hamblenpres.org or 509-385-0626 to make other arrangements.
NEW--4-YR-OLD PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION OPEN NOW

We have decided to start two small 4/5-year-old preschool classes in October. There are only a few spots left. Both classes will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. In January, we expect one of the classes will go to a 4 day a week spot adding in Fridays. Please call Interim Preschool Director Lisa Holmes at 448-2910 to check for availability.
NEW--OASIS AND CARAVAN YOUTH MINISTRIES

Oasis High School Ministry (9th-12th) and Caravan Middle School Ministry (6th-8th) are taking a few-week break and will resume for both age groups on Sunday, September 20. If you do not already receive the Zoom invite emails, click here to request to be added to the weekly Oasis or Caravan email list (please specify in the email which group).

NEW--SIGN UP NOW TO DELIVER BITE2GO MEALS
FOR HAMBLEN ELEMENTARY STUDENTS

Bite2Go begins again Thursday, September 24, 2020. Hamblen Elementary School has requested weekend meal assistance for 20 students at $180.00 per student for the year. Your support in the past has kept this ministry funded and we appreciate your support for this 2020-2021 school year. Please consider helping with this vital Deacon’s Neighborhood Outreach Ministry by volunteering to pick up the Bite2Go food packets from 2nd Harvest and delivering them to Hamblen Elementary School on a Thursday morning this fall/winter. You can sign up for a date and see more information about the program here.

If you have questions, please contact Nancy Tsutakawa 509-448-9503/ntsutakawa@gmail.com or Karen Kelly 509-599-7518/kjkelly547@gmail.com.
NEW--LOOKING FOR DRIVERS

Sometimes members and friends of HPPC need rides to the grocery story, doctor appointments, etc. If you would be willing to help get people where they need to go, contact Heather Notske (heathern@hamblenpres.org or 509-448-2909).
NEW--LOOKING FOR A CUP OF COOL WATER SACK LUNCH COORDINATOR

I have been organizing the Cup of Cool Water monthly sack lunches for 10 or 15 year and I would like to pass it on to another organizer to take over. Would anyone like to step up and take over? I have a list of lunch makers and a couple of delivery people. If interested, please get in touch with me and I will be more than glad to fill you in on the duties. Thank you.
