HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING...

"STRENGTH FOR TODAY, HOPE FOR TOMORROW" SERMON SERIES CONTINUES...
This Sunday will be the second in a 10-week series that will lead us on a journey to grow closer to Jesus through this pandemic season and beyond. All ages, children through adults, will be focusing on the same theme each week. A sermon follow-up exercise will be available to use as individuals and as a discussion starter for groups. Our goal for the fall is that everyone connected to HPPC will find time to explore what it means to gain strength and comfort from a relationship with Jesus!

SOCIALLY DISTANCED, IN-PERSON WORSHIP
Join us for in-person, socially distant evening worship services on Sunday evenings. This service will be held IN ADDITION TO the Sunday morning live-stream service on YouTube. The service will take place in the shade of the east lawn (weather permitting--otherwise we will meet in the Sanctuary) and will include communion (in factory-sealed packets) and instrumental music. We request that people wear masks, bring their own chairs or blankets, and pre-register here.

NEW--OASIS AND CARAVAN YOUTH MINISTRIES

We will be spending the fall meeting on Zoom and playing games, worshiping, and uniting with the church as a whole as we discuss what a spiritual journey looks like and how we can grow as disciples of Jesus. I am so excited to be back together, even over zoom, and for this church-wide unity.

  • CARAVAN, our youth group for 6th-8th graders, will continue to meet weekly on Zoom from 5:00-6:00 PM.
  • OASIS, our youth group for 9th-12th graders kicks off this Sunday, September 27th, at 6:00pm!

If you have not received a link or have questions about youth ministry at HPPC, contact Bethy Crowe at [email protected] or 707-272-2240.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Children's ministry will look a little different this fall!

  • JAM (Jesus and Me) and EDGE (Everyday God Encounters) Sunday School--Joe has created video lessons to watch and assembled take-home activity packets that follow the church-wide sermon series.
  • Journey--Wednesday evening program for 1-5th graders--Will meet on Zoom starting Wednesday, October 7, from 6:00-7:00 PM.

If you have questions about children's ministries, contact Joe Bruce at [email protected] or 509-385-0626.

NEW--EVENSONG SERVICES
a time of prayer, music, and reflection

Do you find yourself longing for moments of stillness and unstructured time in God’s presence during this chaotic and noisy time in our word? We invite you to attend mid-week Evensong on several Wednesdays during our new sermon series, “Strength for Today and Hope for Tomorrow.” We will open the sanctuary as a sacred space for quiet reflection, instrumental music, prayer, resting in God’s presence, and considering the scripture and messages from our sermon series. For those who choose to stay at home, the service will be live-streamed, which you can also watch afterward at your convenience. The service will be mostly self-directed. Bring your journal, your Bible, the follow-up exercises from the newsletter, or just yourself. Our first two services will be on October 14th and 28th at 7:00 PMYou can register to attend in person by clicking here or simply sign in at the service. The link to watch from home will be posted as we get closer.
