Thanks for Serving
To everyone who joined us for our Fall Food Packing, thank you for serving alongside us! With over a hundred people from all generations, we packed 10,000 meals that went out to Second Harvest to be distributed to schools, food banks, and mobile markets. We can’t wait ’til the next time we get to ring that gong!

Beyond the Background:
Courageous, Revolutionary Women in the Life of Moses
Moses: prophet, leader, bearer of the covenant, servant of God. Perhaps the preeminent human character in the Old Testament, Moses has been a topic of countless Bible studies. Unfortunately, those connected to his story are often relegated to a sentence or two of background information. Many of those moved to the background are crucial to the story of Moses and the people of God. The audacious faith and bold action of several women chart the course for Moses’ life and God’s liberating work in the world. Join us for 4 weeks (10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20) as we study the stories of these women and discover how God uses their fearless faith to deliver and bless God’s people. See you Wednesday mornings at 9:30 in the Skylight Room.

The More Things Change, The More There Is To Grieve
Join us Tuesday from 11:30-1:00 in the Fellowship Hall to hear Heather Notske talk about how to process all of the emotions that come with significant life changes that come with aging. We don't always acknowledge the normal grief that we feel when we have to move to a new home, our health starts to decline, or we lose important people in our lives.
Sign up at the Information Center or contact Heather at heathern@hamblenpres.org or 509-385-0627. Lunch will be served, there is a suggested donation of $10.

Congregational Care Team Needs Your Help!
The Congregational Care Team is seeking individuals who continue to be an instrumental part of the Hamblen family; however, find it difficult to get out to attend church activities. A team member will make regular visits at your home to pray for, connect with, and bring Hamblen’s community to you. All you have to do is reach out and accept the invitation. Contact Heather in the church office or leave a message for Betty Rogers at 509-230-7967.

Liberty Park Community Development Center’s Annual Toy Store
Toys Due 12/1, Toy Store 12/7
Tis the season…
It may only be the beginning of November and our families are focusing on Thanksgiving, but it’s also time to start thinking about the Liberty Park Toy Store drive. Let’s take our ‘thankfulness’ and pay it forward. There are 3 ways to participate:
1. Sign-up to purchase toys via Sign Up Genius: https://bit.ly/ToyDriveSignUp2024
2. Pull a tab from the poster in the church foyer to purchase specific toys.
3. Make monetary donations earmarked for the ‘toy store’.
Once you’ve purchased your toys, drop them unwrapped in the bins in the church foyer by Sunday, 12/1. (Or at the latest Monday, 12/2!) Last year’s participation was so incredible that Liberty Park was able to ‘pay it forward’ as well, donating to needs they identified in their community.

Reading Buddies
Would you be interested and willing to invest one hour a week of your time to make a huge life changing difference in a child's life? Please take a few minutes and review the short video below on our Reading Buddies program.
Reading Buddies Video: https://youtu.be/bDD3qRuDEyw?si=VmBEWJYF90uQJ9nr
Research from the U.S Department of Education confirms that children who cannot read by the end of third grade are much less likely to graduate from High School. You can change that by encouraging them to learn to read and to love reading, by reading to them and having them read to you. You and your reading buddy will love having this time together!
You will be able to pick your school from the participating elementary schools in the application below. The steps to becoming a Reading Buddy are easy. Please click this link and follow the instructions.

Thank you for considering this incredible opportunity to help a child learn to love reading!
