WORSHIP WITH US

másCHRIST: More of Jesus

Who's "living the dream?" Whether or not our lives are considered "successful," we find ourselves unfulfilled. The good news is that Christ came at Christmas to give us new life. There is MORE to life than what we might realize. Join us for this Advent sermon series to bring más of Christ into your life.

Share Your 2023 Faith

It's that time of year when we start preparing for the HPPC Annual Report, and we'd love to include your thoughts. You will find a short questionnaire at hamblenpres.org/share-your-faith. It contains prompts to help us learn about your personal experiences at HPPC over the past year. You can answer any of the five questions listed.

We are also requesting photos you may have taken in the past year at any HPPC activities. Please send photos to [email protected]. Thank you!

The Longest Night: A Service of Comfort, Prayer, & Reflection

Wednesday, December 20, 7:00 pm

It’s the Winter Solstice, a.k.a. the longest night of the year. On this evening we step away for a moment from the ‘busy-ness’ of the season as we come together for a quiet time of prayer and reflection. This service is for everyone, especially:

  • those who struggle with grief, pain or loneliness at this time of the year.
  • anyone who loves the joy and promise of the Christmas season, but who also remembers beloved family members and friends who have passed, live far away, or who are missed for any reason.

Intimate and personal, the Longest Night Service offers comfort in prayer, liturgy and music, including candle lighting for loved ones. In-person and streamed live.

Neighborhood Outreach Christmas News

The Hamblen congregation ‘elves’ donated a tremendous number of toys for the Liberty Park Community Center ‘Toy Store’ this year.  Other ‘elves’ contributed financially, which enabled us to give Hamblen and Adams elementary schools each $700 in gift cards. The counselors will distribute to families in need from their school community. We cannot thank you enough.

Your support this year has been overwhelming. As we see need throughout our city, we are thankful that we can contribute in small ways to help bring a little relief to those whose lives may not be as comfortable as ours.

Blessings to you and yours,

Your Neighborhood Outreach Deacons

Holiday Office Hours

The church office will be closed for both Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Happy Holidays!

Office Closures

  • Christmas Day: Monday, December 25, 2023
  • New Year's Day: Monday, January 1, 2024

Please Return Your Pledge Card

We are hoping to grow our giving so that ministries can be maintained amid rising costs. Watch a video with details at bit.ly/hppc-tithe. It can be a joy to tithe (10%), to work toward tithing (growing giving over years toward 10%), or to be generous beyond 10%.

If you would like more information, please ask an elder or the pastors. You may also view an extended video message from Pastor Steve with more details at bit.ly/hppcextfv.

To return your card: put it in the offering plate during worship or bring it directly to the church office. Additional copies are available on the information table in the church entry. If you prefer to use an electronic version, you will find that at bit.ly/HPPC2024EstimateOfGiving. You may also call 509-385-0627 or email [email protected].

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED

Snow Patrol

Each winter we are responsible to keep the church's entryways and the sidewalks around the perimeter of our property clear of snow and ice. We depend on volunteers for this critical ministry that keeps our neighbors safe. Training on our snowblower can be provided! If you would like to be responsible for a day or a week at a time, sign up HERE. If you have questions, contact Heather Notske at 509-385-0627 or [email protected]

Office Volunteers Needed

Are you interested in helping out in the office on a weekly or as-needed basis? We are looking for a few people who would be willing to:

  • Answer the phones for an hour or two at a time
  • Help with occasional mailings
  • Straighten up the pew racks in the sanctuary once a week

If you would be interested in helping in any of these ways, sign up HERE. For questions, contact Heather Notske at 509-385-0627 or [email protected].
