Haygood's Annual Blood Drive 

August 29, 8:00am- 1:00pm

Please register to give blood to The American Red Cross at our 5th Annual Blood Drive, in the Haygood Gym. Sign up online via the Red Cross website - americanredcross.org - using the Sponsor ID HaygoodUMC or click here. We have increased our number of donors each year and are hoping to have 50 sign-ups for this year's drive. Haygood has lots of new faces on staff, and we’d love for you to meet them!

Join us for a reception immediately following worship on Sunday, August 30, in the Gym.

You’ll have a chance to meet our new Director of Children & Families, Rachel Hockman, our Interim Director of Youth Ministries, Rev. Douglas Herlong, and our new Director of Youth Ministries, Jamie Smith. You’ll also hear from Caroline Enright about her new role as our Director of Discipleship.

Come hear a little bit about each person, their story, and what they’re excited about as they begin serving at Haygood.

And there’s more to explore! Haygood has recently refreshed several of our spaces, including Room 105 and The Hut. Members of our Board of Trustees will be on hand to lead tours and show you what’s new.

Greater Love Tour

Kyiv Symphony Orchestra and Chorus (featuring the Georgia Boy Choir)

September 15 7:00PM

The talent and compassion of KSOC take them where many would not or could not venture with the Gospel. Find out how these brilliant musicians impact the lives of widows, orphans, and victims of war in Ukraine. Music Opens Doors and Hearts. The concert features 30 of KSOC’s best world-class artists and musicians. The concert is free but RSVP’s are required. You can register here.

Help Us Feed Our Youth Group



Every Sunday night, we provide dinner for our youth who come together for small group and fellowship.

We’re inviting the entire Haygood community—not just youth group families—to help provide these meals! This is a wonderful way to support our students and show them how much our church family cares for them.

You can use the link to sign up to provide a meal, or you can make a donation to the youth to help cover the cost of a meal.

We generally plan for 25–30 students, and we ask that all food be delivered no later than 4:45 p.m. on Sunday nights.

Wednesday Night Supper, September 2, 2026

Join us on September 2nd for our weekly Wednesday Night Supper! We will be serving from 5:30 until 6:30PM. Our prices are $12/adult and $7/child. Please make your reservation for dinner by 2PM on Tuesday, September 1 by clicking here.

Bulletin/ Weekly Email - Join Haygood’s Greeting Team

One of the best things about our church is that it doesn’t feel like a Sunday obligation, it feels like family, and that’s exactly why our Greeting Team matters so much! We are looking to grow our team of volunteers and update contact info as we head in to a busy fall season. 

Each Sunday, we need at least 3 greeters from 10:30–11:05 AM. This is a wonderful way to catch up with friends you don’t see every day or welcome someone new to Haygood and it takes just 35 minutes of your Sunday.

Here’s how you can help today:

Rise Against Hunger

September 20, 2026

They may look like simple bags of rice and soy, but Rise Against Hunger meals represent the hopes and dreams of hungry people worldwide. In previous years, our meals have gone to Haiti, the Philippines and Africa. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, September 20th. Use the QR code at right to sign up for either shift, 10:00-11:15 a.m. or 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.. You can also sign up for the set-up or breakdown shifts. We will have worship at 9:15 a.m. in the sanctuary before packaging 30,000 Rise Against Hunger meals. Please click here to register.

Testify! You have a story. 

Join us for a five-week class on crafting your personal testimony. 

Everyone has a testimony, but we might be nervous about sharing it or not know where to begin. Each of us has a story that is enfolded within God’s story of redemption. Pastor Will will help guide you to narrate your spiritual journey through stories in the Bible. Over these five weeks, you will receive training and guidance on how to give an account of what you have witnessed God do in your life and how that matters for who you are becoming as a follower of Jesus. At the conclusion of the course, participants will share their testimonies with the group and will be invited to share them in worship or in another church setting. 

Session 2: Struggles in life.

Session 3: Transformation through faith. 

Sessions 4 & 5: Sharing Our Testimonies. 

“This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and has written them, and we know that his testimony is true” (John 21:24).

Join the Altar Guild! We are looking for people for our Communion Team. There are also many tasks with very small time commitments that can be done at your convenience during the week. Please contact us for more information!

Tailgate at Tech

Haygood will be sponsoring a tailgate for students at the Georgia Tech Wesley Foundation for their opener on September 3rd verses the University of Colorado. If you would like to help host by bringing food and visiting with the students before the game, please email Will@haygoodumc.org. 

2026-2027 Children’s Choirs and Youth Ensemble



Sign ups for Children Choirs and Youth Ensemble for the 2026-27 school year are live! Cherub Choir and Joyful Noise are for age 4 through 5th grade. Harmonics is for 5th graders through high school who will learn instruments and singing. Cherubs and Joyful Noise meet on Wednesday afternoons, Harmonics will have the choice of Wednesday afternoons(4:45 - 5:30) or Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:30 a.m. All groups start on September 2. Advent Drama Casting Call- The Loaned Manger

 Sunday, September 13, 4-5:30 p.m., Haygood Sanctuary 

Is your child interested in playing a part in this year's Advent drama, "The Loaned Manger"? There's a place for them. Speaking roles are for 2^nd through 6^th graders. Participants must register in Realm, attend the casting call, as well as rehearsals on Sundays from 4-5 p.m. from September 27 until the performance (during worship) on December 6. All attendees will receive a part. Our director is Rev.
