HOLMIE OF THE MONTH
Randy Hentges (rhymes with "wrenches")
Refrigeration/Fitter Foreman
Thank you for the nomination of June's Holmie of the Month! I have been at Holmberg for over two years and honestly enjoy my work and the people I work with. Jumping into citizenM to do VRF halfway through the project and now helping build Avenue Bellevue has been a great experience. The refrigeration side here at Holmberg is a small group of people and I look forward to helping it grow.
I live in Edgewood with my wife Liz and our two dogs Savage and Miles. For fun I enjoy bracket racing, going to Kraken games, doing house projects, helping get people AC in their homes, and picking up random other hobbies. We are building a new back deck and I’ve picked up a smoker so I’m excited to be outside trying my hand at making some good BBQ.

Holmberg had three foursome's at Local 66's annual golf tournament.
Everyone played well and Joe Bradshaw didn't get hit with a golf ball :)

Our Service Department is bursting at the seams!
Meet our four newest members.
| |
Blake Williams – Service Dispatcher
My name is Blake Williams. I was born and raised in Detroit, moving out to the Seattle area back in 2013. My work history has been all over the place, but more frequently I have been providing customer service through varying degrees for a multitude of companies. On my free time, I am an avid gamer/ professional E-Sports commentator as well as a musician. I also often teach basic music theory classes via streaming online for troubled children of all ages. I am thankful to have been brought into the Holmberg family, and look forward to working with everyone further :)

Melanie Stillings – Service Dispatcher
Hello, my name is Melanie Stillings. I recently returned to Washington from Minnesota, where my husband and I spent the last year. I have been married to my husband Joel for 16 years. Together we have 5 grown kids, 3 boys, 2 girls. We have 4 beautiful grandbabies, and 4 fur babies. Some of my past endeavors include, receptionist/office assistant, HVAC/plumbing supply warehouse manager, and many years in customer service. I have an undergraduate in Medical Records. When I am not at work, I am usually doing something outdoors like camping, fishing, or 4 wheeling. I enjoy watching football, hockey, and NASCAR. I am excited to be part of the Holmberg family, and grow along with the service department.

Julio Jeronimo- HVAC Apprentice
Hello, my name is Julio Jeronimo, and most people don’t know I was born in Queretaro, Mexico. I moved to Washington around the age of 5. I love the outdoors especially hiking, hanging with friends, and my daily visits to the gym!
I officially graduate from Perry Technical Institute of Yakima in June. I am excited to start my career in the HVAC industry as the challenges and diversity that Service offers has helped me gain knowledge of many different systems rapidly.
Looking forward to what is next.

Dominic Cruz – Service Plumber (No Pic, promise he is real)
Hello Holmies, my name is Dominic Cruz. I am thrilled to be joining the Holmberg Service Team. While I have had a little experience in construction plumbing, the majority of my career has been in Service. I finished my apprenticeship while working in the McKinstry Service group and then moved to Auburn Mechanical. When it comes to service work, I am passionate about boilers, pumps, and preventative maintenance. I look forward to working with all of you and expanding the Holmberg Service market share.

No matter who you are or the region you’re in, rising summer temps and humidity can cause people to experience heat-related illness. But by ensuring that you are following through with some basic hydration and exposure guidelines, you can easily avoid finding yourself dehydrated, sick with heat exhaustion, and/or a trip to the emergency department for heat-related illness. Here are some baseline goals that you should maintain this season when in the heat, whether that be at work, or at play:
-
Hydrate in the morning before you begin your day/activities. Start with an 8 – 16oz cup of water within the first 30 minutes of waking up!
-
Drink before feeling thirsty. By the time you feel thirsty, you are already behind in fluid replacement.
- Eat regular meals and snacks throughout your day to maintain your salt intake levels that are lost in sweat
- Break intermittently throughout your day and OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT to give your body a chance to cool down. Similar to water intake, it is much more effective and less strenuous on your body to break it out over the course of your activities
-
When working in the heat, drink 1 cup (8 ounces) of water every 15–20 minutes.
-
This translates to 24–32 ounces per hour.
- Drinking at shorter intervals is more effective than drinking large amounts infrequently
-
Hydrate After work/activities
- Most people need several hours to drink enough fluids to replace what they have lost through sweat. The sooner you get started, the less strain you place on your body from dehydration
- Hydrating after work is even more important if you work in the heat on a regular basis. Chronic dehydration increases the risk for a number of medical conditions, such as kidney stones
Try to avoid drinks with excessive sugar and caffeine, especially energy drinks – keep in mind that caffeine is recognized as having a mild diuretic effect and this may enhance dehydration.

* We increase the weight of books when we write on them
* Walking down the street at the same pace as a stranger is weirdly uncomfortable
* Getting a quick haircut by shaving it off is a shortcut
