YOUR GENEROSITY IS NEEDED!
Your generosity is needed, now more than ever! You may give via:

PayPal — access it through our website or send your donation on PayPal which takes out a fee, to donations@holycovenantmcc.org

Zelle - You can send your donation directly to the church using Zelle via the email address donations@holycovenantmcc.org. It will go directly into the general account and there will be no fees attached to the giving.

Electronic Check
Send an electronic check from your financial institution, or by sending a personal check. Our address is 9145 Grant Ave, Brookfield, IL, 60513.

Please remember that when giving through PayPal they do charge a percentage fee to the church unless it shows an option to help out the church and for you to pay that fee.

See the weekly giving below. Holy Covenant needs at least $4,672 a month to meet its obligations for bills and salary. We are now showing what the percentage of giving is and how we are doing on a monthly basis.

PASTOR'S PICKS CORNER! REV. DANIELS READING/LISTENING/WATCHING SUGGESTIONS
An eclectic collection of books, movies, TV shows, magazines, etc. that I have come across, which I found good or interesting and you might too!

Recently reading:
Illness as Metaphor by Susan Sontag. The author was inspired to write this originally as a response to HIV/AIDS. In the years since, it has been understood as a way to understand many ways of "othering" individuals--trans people, people who are incarcerated, people of another race/ethnicity. It's one of those books to read slowly, digesting every chapter as you go.

A two-fer!
Clouds Cannot Cover Us and Backwater Sermons, by Jay Hulme
Two collections of poetry by a gay transmasc British poet, Clouds is Hulme’s initial book. During the Covid lockdown, he began a spiritual journey that ended in his involvement with, and baptism, in the Anglican church. The poems in Backwater Sermons are his response to those experiences, "Jesus At the Gay Bar" being the best-known. Highly recommended. Also, follow him on Twitter— he’s interesting, funny, heartbreaking and sweet.
.
WE NEED YOUR IDEAS!
We received 10 suggestions last week! Thank you to the people who answered. If you answered the poll last week, please do not do it this week.

If you can operate the lawn mower in the picture, then we need you! Or if you can just stop by the church and pull some weeds for an hour we'd appreciate it!

We need volunteers for lawn-mowing! If you can commit to mowing the lawn once a month, please contact Rev. Martha or Mary Ann Latsaras at only1amar@yahoo.com

A big thank you to those that have stepped up and mowed the lawn. We do need a few more volunteers to cut the grass and to just pull the weeds around the church. If you do pull the weeds, just put them into the black garbage cans.

SHARE FOOD, SHARE LOVE, FOOD PANTRY
Some families will have a hard time providing healthy, nourishing food. Rising food costs caused by inflation, when combined with the ongoing pandemic, means that many family budgets that were already stretched thin, are no longer adequate to provide for their needs. Sometimes it is even necessary for families to do without essential items like medicine or professional health care, so that everyone has enough to eat.

You can make a real difference. Donating now is so important please take a minute to give so we can feed the hungry in our area.
Thank you!

A $1 Donation Can Provide 6 Meals!
