November 19-21, 2021
I am Rev. Tory Topjian and I am contacting you on behalf of the North Central MCC US Network Team in regard to our forthcoming Network Gathering, taking place November 19-21, 2021, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
We are excited that we are having this gathering the same weekend that both our Wisconsin congregations are celebrating milestone anniversaries. Milwaukee MCC will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary and Angels of Hope will be celebrating their 35th Anniversary.
Our network time together will be focused on looking at what and how worship can look like moving forward, coming out of the COVID scenarios that we all have faced. We will look at what challenges we all have faced both with the style of worship to ways of trying to get our numbers built back up again. We will also take a look at various options of how we can continue to include music within worship and the various opportunities that are available. A look at how licensing plays a big part in live-streaming and/or premiering our services on social media, with pointers and helpful tools that will help make producing worship more streamlined and effectively. Lastly, we will also throw in ways of promoting and building your programs and ministries within our congregations. A majority of the group sessions will be an interactive experience.
Additionally, I would be honored, if you are planning to attend the gathering, to stay through Sunday, and be a part of worship on Sunday morning. It would be a joyous occasion bringing together those of us who are able, to partake in worship, as we help both Milwaukee MCC and Angeles of Hope MCC, celebrate and commemorate their milestone anniversaries.
I am honored that Rev. Dr. Roland Stringfellow will be our guest and featured preacher for Anniversary Sunday. Both congregations are also excited to share that they will be honoring and memorializing two of their past ministers, Rev. David Callentine and Rev. Lewis Broyles, with an honorary Minister Emeritus.
Also, hotel accommodations for $90/night plus tax have been arranged at the: Fairfield Inn & Suites West Milwaukee. Reservations can be made by calling the hotel: 414-645-2800. Ask for the MCC 50th Anniversary Rate when booking. You can also book directly online at:
We kindly ask that Registration and Hotel arrangement are made by October 31, 2021, to ensure rates.
Please see below our proposed schedule for the weekend:

Holy Covenant has started to use an online software program called SignUp Genius to create volunteer opportunities and for future worship.

With this online software, you will be able to sign-up to help with a variety of different events being held at the church. By signing up you will receive reminders for what you have signed up to help with and can keep track of other volunteer opportunities that may arise.

When you see a volunteer opportunity for a sign-up like grass cutting, garage sale, etc. there will be a link that will take you to the sign-up sheet. Please fill it out as needed.

Our partner at Share Food, Share Love uses this online software with great success! Let's make it successful for our church too by everyone clicking on the provided link and sign up to help out Holy Covenant as needed.

If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Martha or Barbara Adams Latsaras at

Meditation has returned! The next meditation is on Tuesday, October 26th,
7 pm at the church. Mary Ann will be leading the meditation in Fellowship Hall. This event is free and open to all women.

Please be prompt at 7 pm
so there are no distractions.

We will be following CDC/Illinois guidelines.

  • Please bring your mask even if you are vaccinated.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home.
  • We ask that you use hand sanitizer as you enter the building
  • You must be vaccinated or have a negative COVID test.

Some more information about meditation:

  • An RSVP is now required via call-in, text, or email verification to guarantee coverage for any handouts or other materials.

  • Meditation gatherings are gratuitously offered, a basket will be present for any gracious “Love Offerings” will be provided to cover any costs for the group.

  • The group is open to Women Only and bringing a friend, or two is always welcomed. Because this is a group format in the support of our community, it is healing for each individual to make a personal commitment to participate in exchanges accordingly to one's ability to share, grow and heal as well as the benefit to the group as a whole.

  • Meditation begins promptly after 7 P.M., doors will be locked at 7:01 to prevent interruptions, maintaining group safety, and upholding everyone’s privacy, however, doors will be opened for “socializing” 15-45 minutes or more prior to 7 P.M. to accommodate community social time, as long as RSVP’s are made to accommodate the needs of the group.

  • Depending on the size of the group, the facilitator's presentation, and the material of the evening, session length averages 90 - 120 minutes,
  • 8:30 - 9:00 P.M., but can, in few and rare cases, extend up to 10 P.M.

  • Personal/Private meditation sessions are available for individuals or small groups, as well as other Holistic Healing. Discussion of facilitators' scheduling and fees available upon request.

If you have any questions, please email Mary Ann Latsaras at
