The weekend is almost here, and there's a fantastic lineup of events happening around Kentucky Lake. Get ready for a fascinating weekend at the Woodlands Nature Station! The Hummingbird Fest is happening on August 2nd and 3rd, from 10 AM to 4 PM each day. You'll have the chance to learn all about these incredible tiny birds, discover how to attract them to your yard, and even see hummingbird banding in action. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy some unique educational experiences.

This little, abandoned bridge tucked away in the woods just off US 79 on LBL’s southern border marks an interesting, yet little-known fact about Land Between The Lakes.  In the planning stages of LBL, this site was considered for a welcome center, with this now-abandoned bridge serving as a southern entrance into the national recreation area.  Most don’t realize it, but LBL’s southern border briefly dips south of US 79 at this intersection, supposedly where the visitor center was once proposed decades ago.
