Group Fitness
We are excited to announce the return of outdoor fitness classes at Liberty! Beginning Thursday, 4/1, several of our group fitness classes will begin going outside during favorable weather. Because of the varying weather during this time of year, classes will be scheduled indoors on the basketball court, but will move outside if the projected temperature is above 50 degrees with little chance of rain. Should we plan to head outdoors, we will notify participants registered for in-person and virtual classes via email by 6 pm the night before morning classes and 10 am for evening classes.. The virtual option will not be available when class is held outdoors.
Classes eligible to go outside:

March is National Nutrition Month

Looking for healthy meal and snack ideas? Liberty Athletic Club's RDN, Bethany Williston, offers some simple principles for nutritious meal planning.

Include a whole grain, protein, fruits/veggies, and a small amount of fat in every meal. Combine two of the following: whole grain, protein, fruit/veggies for snacks.
Grains: Bread, rolls, pastry dough, cereal, oatmeal, grits, pasta, couscous, quinoa, polenta, and rice
Proteins: Beef, ham, chicken, turkey, fish, seafood, tuna fish, other canned fish, eggs, tofu, veggie burgers, edamame, beans, lentils, milk, cheese, yogurt, nut butters and nuts

Fruits/Veggies: Fresh, canned, frozen, and dehydrated fruit and veggies, applesauce, olives, sundried tomatoes, and dried fruit
Fats: Butter, margarine, vegetable oils, lard, sour cream, chocolate, and avocados
Some of these foods can fit into more than one category. For example, cheese, eggs, fish (like salmon), and nuts are composed of both protein and fat. Beans, lentils, quinoa, and oatmeal are both grains and protein. You can always check food labels or look up foods online to determine which nutrients are more abundant.

Recipe to try:
Avocado toast: start with a slice of toasted whole grain bread, spread half an avocado on it, sprinkle it with salt, add an egg (any style), some nuts like pistachios, and add a vegetable like a diced tomato, wilted spinach, or cooked mushrooms.
