March was Child Life Month, and at the Michael Magro Foundation, we recognize the incredible impact of Child Life Specialists in hospitals. These dedicated professionals bring comfort, education, and emotional support to children facing medical challenges, helping them navigate their journey with courage and resilience.

Through our programs, we’re honored to support families and partner with Child Life teams to ensure kids receive the care and encouragement they need. Join us in celebrating these heroes! 

Child Life Memory

As we reflect on our journey, one of the most touching moments occurred during Michael’s time in the ICU. The child life specialist, with such tenderness and thoughtfulness, invited Paul, Marc, and me to create an impression of our hands on a pillowcase. Nicole, with grace, held Michael’s hand in hers. That simple yet profound act, a gesture of connection and love, has since become a cherished memory. We have that pillowcase framed, a lasting reminder of our family of four, bound together by love and strength during a time we will never forget.

60 Disctraction Bags Have Been Packed

A few weeks ago, we packed 60 distraction bags for children undergoing chemo, each filled with love and care to bring comfort during treatment. A huge thank you to Homefront Security LLC for sponsoring the bags and to everyone who donated items to make this possible!

We even had a little volunteer who was so excited to help pack these bags, knowing they would bring smiles to kids facing tough days. Every effort, big or small, makes a difference!
