We have a mortar & pestle in our Library of Things that's pretty handy at this time of year. Sure, you can use a food processor to make pesto, but a mortar and pestle is better for small batches, gets your frustrations out, AND we think the end result is tastier. Give it a try!

Make Your Own Nature Sketchbook

Join us for a hands-on nature and art workshop! We'll begin with a guided walk through the fields and woods, foraging for natural treasures like leaves, twigs, feathers and seed pods. Back at the farm, we'll create our own handmade sketchbooks, then use our collected items as inspiration to fill the pages with drawings, textures, and creative reflections! All materials will be provided.
Participants should bring a snack and consider wearing bug spray.

Register by the 21st of the month for the next month's loot.
Lit Loot is a book subscription bag for teens in grades 6-12.
Register and complete a short survey by the 21st of the month. Lit loot bags will be available for pickup on the display shelves across from the circulation desk on/after the first of the following month.
What's in the bag, you ask?
Each Lit Loot bag will have 2 library books based upon the preferences indicated in your survey and a selection of small goodies to keep. Return the books and bag by the due date, and keep the goodies.

Skyline Farm's 11th Annual Benefit 5K Trail Run
Sunday, September 14
Skyline Farm, 95 The Lane, North Yarmouth
The Kids’ Fun Run will start the festivities at 9:00 a.m.
5K starts at 9:30 a.m.
Registration fee is $30.
The off-road course consists of one loop through the trails of Skyline Farm and Yarmouth Water District. Walkers are welcome.
Post race will include awards, bluegrass music by Main Street Music, pancake breakfast, and a kids' craft area. Marathon Sports has generously donated $100 gift certificates for the top male and female finishers. Sweet and savory pies will be awarded to the top male and female finishers in eight age categories. Click here for more information.
Proceeds from the event will support Skyline Farm, a nonprofit organization promoting recreational and educational opportunities for the community.

The Friends of PML gladly accepts donations of gently used books, DVDs, CDs and puzzles (up to 2 small boxes or 2 shopping bags at a time), which are in good to excellent condition. Items for all ages are welcome.
The following are not accepted: Encyclopedias, magazines, textbooks, Bibles, VHS Tapes, outdated self-help or medical advice books, reference, technology or computer books, books which are written in, torn, moldy, musty, water or smoke damaged.
Please do not place donations in the Book Drop as space is limited for patrons' items. Bring donations into the library.
