MAKING A DIFFERENCE
BABY FORMULA DRIVE IMPACT
At the end of March Father Andrew wrote about his prayers for Venezuela and the specific need for baby formula. Within just a few weeks we sent out a recap with pictures showing the truckload of baby formula that we collected as a church. Though our official baby formula drive ended months ago, we still were receiving monetary donations. It is with such joy that we get to give yet another update on supplies. Just last week 90 lbs of baby formula and 120 baby bottles were purchased for Venezuela through the money raised here at St. Gregory's. Thanks to everyone that helped make this happen. Please pray for all of those still impacted by this awful struggle both here in our community and in Venezuela.

MUSIC & WORSHIP AT ST. GREGORY'S
|
This Sunday, we will hear Mr. Phil Denny at the 10am worship singing the beautiful Victorian era solo “The Lord is My Light” by Frances Allitsen. This powerful rendition of Psalm 27 remains a traditional favorite among singers and I’m so pleased that Phil will be singing it this Sunday. He will also sing a rendition of the wonderful old hymn “Great is thy Faithfulness” for the Communion Meditation. I’m looking forward to having Phil share his talents with us once again this Sunday!
This week on July 12 my parents celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary! I’ll be traveling to Kentucky this week to be with them and join in the celebratory festivities, returning this Saturday evening.
Our final concert of the season will be this Sunday afternoon at 3 PM when we will host The Symphony of the Americas. Performing will be the string quartet Quartetto Orfeo from Rome, Italy. I have the honor of being their guest soloist and I’m looking forward to making music with them! Tickets are available at the door or click here to

PARISH NURSE MINISTRY
BLOOD PRESSURE READINGS
I wish to thank Deacon Anita, a member of the Parish Nurse Ministry for her suggestion to offer Blood pressure readings and other vital signs to parishioners which could possibly open up discussion on their personal health issues.
While taking one gentleman’s Blood Pressure, he and I discussed removing added salt to his foods. Other ways to reduce Blood Pressure were also discussed such as; identifying high sodium foods to avoid, and walking to lose excess weight. Family history and pertinent lab studies to identify diabetes (A1C), and hyperlipidemia (cholesterol LDH, HDL, triglycerides) which all can have an effect on Blood pressure. Oh did I forget to mention STRESS when you finish reading this please sit in a chair, hands on knees, close eyes, take a deep breath through your nose and exhale through your mouth. -
