FOR THOSE SEEKING THE UNEXPECTED

PRAYER
Keep watch, dear Lord, with those who work, or watch, or weep this night, and give your angels charge over those who sleep. Tend the sick, Lord Christ; give rest to the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, pity the afflicted, shield the joyous; and all for your love’s sake.
Amen

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
BAHAMAS HURRICANE RELIEF APPEAL
We are so inspired by one of our close partners in ministry: B’nai Torah - one of the leading conservative synagogues in the country. There Tzedakah, Learning, & Chesed (TLC) program is their premier outreach ministry. This would be comparable to tithing, learning, and grace for Christians. Through TLC, they have over 20 pallets of supplies destined for the Bahamas! They haven’t stopped there, though. Director of TLC, Summer Faerman, is still collecting. We are so inspired by this work. This effort in addition with our generous donations for our appeal is helping to provide for those suffering from the devastation in the Bahamas. Thanks be to God for all of God's people!
This week we have sent $16,000 to Bishop Eaton’s Discretionary Fund that will be combined with other funds received from Churches in our diocese and forwarded to the Diocese of the Bahamas. We have received another $2,000 since we sent the first check for the Bahamas Relief and have commitments for another $2,000. Our Meals With Meaning Appeal has also exceeded our initial goal as is now at $6,567. We are so grateful for everyone's generosity and are inspired by what just two communities can do when they seek to love their neighbor. Thank you for making a difference!

33 MINUTES / SUNDAY ADULT FORUM
SUN SEPT 15 / 9:10AM / LED BY FR. BEN THOMAS / LIBRARY
BEN'S WISDOM CIRCLE
WED SEPT 22 / 6:30PM / LED BY FR. BEN THOMAS / LIBRARY
Both groups will discussing Richard Rohr's new book the Universal Christ “Love is the energy that sustains the universe, moving everything toward resurrection.” Fr. Richard Rohr’s work took root in St. Gregory’s long before I was called here, but I am delighted to amplify his voice. This program year we are diving into his latest book; The Universal Christ: How a Forgotten Reality Can Change Everything We See, Hope For, and Believe. We are reading this book in our Wednesday morning Men’s Spirituality Group and Wednesday evenings in my upcoming Wisdom Circle, and we thought why not open this up to the parish at large on Sundays for our 33 Minutes Adult Formation class. To aid us in this discussion, we will also use the podcast that accompanies the book, called Another Name for Every Thing. I will post a link on Facebook to each podcast every Wednesday for you to listen to that will help facilitate our discussion on Sunday mornings as we read the book together. All are welcome to join these groups as we take a deep dive into resourcing the ancient roots of Christianity in order to take it into the present and future. The Universal Christ is available for purchase in our Thrift Store and the free podcasts can be accessed by
