Meet Rod Lavergne!
Originally from Opelousas, Mr. Rod is a Navy Veteran from the Vietnam Era.  He has been married 41 years to his lovely wife Kay.  They have two sons; Matthew and Stephen.  Mr. Rod is retired from LSU (his alma mater) after 33 years in computer servicing and is quite the celebrity among our students.  According to Rod, "St. Pat's is {my} most rewarding job.  The kids and teachers are great."

PET BLESSINGS
On Wednesday, October 3, please send your child to school with a picture of their pet or stuffed animal to bless during chapel for our annual Pet Blessings; in remembrance of Saint Francis of Assisi's love for all creatures. 

TAILGATE PARTY
Mark you calendars for St. Patrick's Tailgate Party/Fundraiser on October 21st. Join us for burgers/hotdogs as we cheer on our Saints! As this event is close to Halloween, we will have a Halloween Carnival that day for our costumed students complete with games and lots of candy! Information regarding ways you can help with the fundraising portion of our party will be rolling out soon.

The shape for September is CIRCLE. The color for September is RED.
ST. PATRICK'S TAILGATE PARTY AND FUNDRAISER

St. Patrick's is holding a Tailgate Party & Fundraiser on October 21st: Saints vs. Ravens. 
We are looking for sponsors/donors for silent auction gift-basket items. Please check out the easel, located in the Main Entrance, with all gift basket items wanted. Take one, sign your name, & bring the item(s) of choice in before October 5th!
WEEKLY SEWING CLASSES

Teresa Boatner has resumed her Weekly Sewing Classes Thursdays at 6:00 PM in Martin Hall.  She will be conducting a series of gift items you will be able to give as Christmas Gifts or keep for yourself.   Space is limited, please call Teresa to register at 601-807-2448.

HOLY MYSTERIES ESCAPE ROOM

St. Luke's BR and St. James BR are co-hosting a fun event  (6th-12th grades): the EYC Escape Room Experience: "Holy Mysteries." 

Date: Sunday, Sept 30th
Time: 6:00-7:30pm   
*Escape Room doors lock closed at 6:20pm so you must be here before then to play the game. 
Location: St. James Episcopal 205 N. 4th Street in Downtown Baton Rouge, LA,. 

Heavy snacks will be offered. No cost.

The premise: Youth will be "locked in" a room filled with clues to unlock a holy mystery. Could it be whispers of a martyred saint, could it be a puzzle code in the BCP, could the patin be covering a secret key?  6th-8th graders and 9th -12th graders will have separate mystery spaces with their different clues. Each group will have 45 minutes to unlock their holy mystery.  

Each group will have 2 adults with them for chaperone presence. Prizes will be awarded for teams who are successful at their sleuthing before the timer ends!

FIFTH SUNDAY POTLUCK

Everyone is invited to a Fall Potluck Lunch on  Sunday, September 30  immediately after St. Patrick's Church Service.  This is a wonderful opportunity to visit with your church family and enjoy some great food.  Bring your favorite main dish and/or side dish (vegetable, salad, dessert, other).

COLLEEN'S MEETING

The women of the church will meet on Saturday, October 6 at 9:00 A.M. in Martin Hall for brunch and fellowship hosted by Marie Nezianya and Reva Cook.  Come dressed to work as the ladies will move to the church where they will do some heavy duty cleaning of the church.  Bring your favorite cleaning utensils so we can clean and polish the pews, dust the baseboards and windowsills, vacuum rugs and kneelers and more.   
Many hands make light work and no experience is necessary! 

BATON ROUGE ECW DEANERY MEETING

The Colleens of St. Patrick's will be hosting the BR ECW Deanery Meeting on Saturday, October 13 from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.  Continental breakfast will be served beginning at 8:30 A.M. followed by the celebration of the Eucharist, business meeting, and lunch.  
The cost for all participants is $8.  
We will need volunteers to assist with food preparation and hostess duty.

THE ZACHARY FOOD PANTRY

St. Patrick's - Help the Zachary Food Pantry (ZFP) feed families in need!

The following are helpful tips when donating: Please donate items before their expiration and prime ripeness, ZFP accepts monetary donations if you prefer not to shop, and ZFP accepts more than just dry goods-they also accept Fresh bread, fresh fruits/vegetables, infant formula, diapers, and personal products. 

Suggested donation items are:  Peanut butter, jelly, canned fruit and vegetables, beans, canned meat, ramen or other dry pasta, spaghetti sauce, rice, canned soup, cereal, and 100% juice.
 
Please drop your ZFP donation items in the basket inside St. Patrick's chapel door, in the ZFP barrel located in St. Patrick's Parish Hall, or drop your marked monetary donation in the offering plate labeled "Zachary Food pantry".

National Disaster Preparedness Month


Join us on our  Facebook page  in the month of September as we recognize National Disaster Preparedness Month.
