Help SPUMCWF prepare for the coming year!

You may have received a letter and pledge card in the mail from St. Paul's. This is your opportunity to help us shape what 2024 and beyond will look like, as we draw the circle wide! Please consider pledging so we can adequately prepare for the coming year. You can pledge by returning your physical pledge card or by pledging online here. We will celebrate our pledges in worship on Sunday, Nov. 19th. Thank you for your ongoing generosity, and helping us be prepared to be a vibrant community of faith in the coming year!

Silent Vigil for Peace

Local community leaders have sent us the following invitation: All are welcome to gather for a silent vigil for peace in Israel and Gaza on Mondays from 5:00 to 5:30 PM at the Allen Street gates. Join us as we express our communal longing for an end to violence everywhere. Candles or other lights are welcome. Please leave signs and flags at home and simply bring your prayerful presence.

Winter boots needed!

Nov. 4th was St. Paul’s Shoe Bank’s first Saturday to give out boots, and our shelves are depleted. We were BUSY, BUSY, BUSY and could really use some gently used winter boots, especially for elementary-aged children. All size boots are welcome. You can donate boots in a box outside the Shoe Bank on the second floor of the Wesley Foundation. Email Jan Becker with questions. Thank you!

Harvest Home for World Hunger Offering

St. Paul's is participating in the Harvest Home for World Hunger Offering sponsored by our Susquehanna Conference. By participating in this offering, you can take one action to help address the urgent need of the hungry. Fifty percent of the offering will go to hunger projects and agencies within the Susquehanna Conference, 25% will go to national hunger projects through UMCOR, and 25% will go to international projects through UMCOR. If you would like to help those struggling to put food on their table, click here to donate.

Your old toothbrush can support a child's education! Last chance this November!

Our Terracycle recycling collection has earned $2,600 for school supplies and scholarships for Nicaraguan students. Terracycle will end its charity donations for dental product recycling in December. Please help us make this December shipment a big one! Bring your old toothbrushes, empty toothpaste tubes, floss containers, and related packaging to the collection box in the Calder Way stairwell.

After December, Terracycle will still recycle these items into usable materials and keep them out of the landfill, and St. Paul's will continue to serve as a collection point as a way to care for God's creation. Email Joanna Carlson with questions.
