Last week we heard about Isaac and Rebekah; this week we turn to Jacob and Rachel and Esau, and an epic struggle. Come and join us in-person or via livestream at 10:00 AM.

August Food Bank Donations

The first Sunday of the month (Aug. 3rd) is a "Food Bank Sunday" at St. Paul’s. To see what items are currently needed, go to scfoodbank.org. There are tubs marked “Food Bank” at both the College Avenue and Calder Way entrances of the church to put your donations in. Please, no baby food or formula, expired food, or opened food packages. The food bank truly appreciates the help you give to their clients and thanks you for your donations.

Guns to Garden Tools

Join us this coming Sunday, Aug. 3rd, at 2:00 PM in our church parking lot as we host a blacksmith demonstration from RAWTools, in which participants can assist in transforming a gun into a garden tool! This will be a family-friendly event with art, music, popcorn and more. We would love to see you there!

Summer of Wonder: S'mores and More!

Join us for our fourth Summer of Wonder gathering on Wednesday, Aug. 6th, at 7:00 PM for some fellowship time of songs, stories and s'mores!!! We will meet at Rebecca and Chris Connelly's home in Pine Grove Mills, located at 960 West Pine Grove Road! All ages are welcome; we'd love to see you around the campfire! S'mores supplies will be provided, but if there is anything you like add to make your s'mores extra special, feel free to bring some along! This event will be BYOC … bring your own chair!

School Supply Collection and Kit Assembly

Let’s help Mission Central distribute supplies to Pennsylvania students in need. Designate a financial donation for "school supplies" by check made out to St. Paul's UMC (placed in the offering plate on Sundays or delivered to the church office) or give online through St. Paul's Hub or bring in crayons (24), child scissors, pencils, and blue/black pens to the Calder Way collection box by Sunday, Aug. 10th. All are invited to help assemble the kits on Sunday, Aug. 17th, after the church service.

Financial Report

Through the first half of 2025, St. Paul’s income was 50.3% of our budget at $437,395. Expenses were $423,337, which is approximately $23,000 below the budgeted amount. Designated benevolence income, including the 40 flood buckets the congregation assembled, the Good Sam Fund, and all local, state, and national causes was $36,799. It's almost here! Final push for the Free Yard Sale for Penn State Students

Students will be arriving in about a month! Let's build relationships without agenda by helping them make their new dorm or apartment feel homey. Our free yard sale for students will be Saturday, Aug. 23rd, from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM on the College Avenue lawn. (Rain location is Wesley Room 204.) These are the items we're collecting: 


  • Hangers, storage bins/baskets, organizer bins, cleaning supplies, indoor garbage cans
  • Toaster, blender, small appliances, pots/pans, utensils, dishes, glasses, mugs, flatware, food storage containers, dish towels/clothes
  • Rugs, curtains, Christmas lights (small bulbs)
  • Shower curtains/rings, bath mats, towels, or hand towels
  • No clothing; only items in good, working condition


Please bring items to Wesley Room 205 by Sunday, Aug. 17th.
