Pardon Our Appearance
Goodwin Hall is in the process of being repainted. This work will extend into next week. Therefore, on Sunday morning, Goodwin Hall will be in disarray. The contractor will clear a path through Goodwin Hall so that parishioners may pass through on their way to the sanctuary and the Memorial Garden. Hospitality Hour will be in the Library, as Goodwin Hall will not be available for this purpose.
If you have any questions, please contact Vinnie Pacileo at vpacileo@trinityhartford.org or call 860-212-5856.

Church by the Pond - August 16
Trinity's next opportunity to participate in this ministry led by Christ Church Cathedral is Saturday, August 16.
- We'll meet in the Trinity kitchen at 12:30 to prepare bag lunches, entering through the outside door to the kitchen.
- At 1:45 we'll bring those lunches to Bushnell Park, where we'll participate in the worship service near the pond.
- We'll offer our lunches and personal care items following the service, and finish around 3:00.
All parishioners, friends and families are welcome!
Please contact Percy Williamson (percybwilliamson@yahoo.com) or Heather Kramer (heatherjk1989@gmail.com) if you have questions, or to note that you are planning to participate.

2025 Backpack Ministry for Covenant to Care
Trinity is once again participating in the Adopt A Social Worker program of Covenant to Care to support Hartford children in need as they return to school. This year we've been asked to simply provide backpacks, as these are generally the biggest cost factor for the families.
Backpacks may be for any level of school children, with gender-neutral designs please. They may be placed in the Baptistery until Sunday August 17. A blessing will be included in our service that day, and they will be delivered to Covenant to Care the next.
Have questions? Contact Penny Pearson, 860-243-0020, pennypearson@comcast.net

Gospel Music Morning at
Trinity Episcopal Church, Hartford
Sundays, August 17 & 24 at 9:30 AM
Start your Sunday with music and community. On August 17 and 24, we’ll gather at Trinity Episcopal Hartford for a relaxed morning of gospel music, led by our Music Director, Markus Centola.
We’ll meet around the piano to sing from the Lift Every Voice and Sing hymnal (copies will be provided). It’s an informal, welcoming time to enjoy music together. No pressure, no rehearsals, just a chance to sing, connect, and be lifted.
Everyone is welcome—just come as you are.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Markus at mcentola@trinityhartford.org

A message from Trinity Book Group
Here's a recommendation for your summer reading: Bel Canto, by Ann Patchett. It's a spellbinding novel about love and opera, and the unifying ways people learn to communicate across cultural barriers in times of crisis.
This will be the featured book for Book Group's first meeting of the program year, on Sept. 19, to which everyone is invited. More details to come, but now's the time to get the book from your local library or bookstore, and delve into this highly acclaimed work!

Prayers in the Chapel
Every Sunday after our service we invite you to the chapel to pray for those guiding us through the search for a new rector. We are a small prayer team that has volunteered for this exercise. We also have found that this is a prayer time for our own needs and those of others. Please join us for this short time together, about 10-15 minutes. All are welcome!

A NOTICE FROM THE PRAYER TEAM
At Trinity Church we believe in the power of prayer.
- Your written prayer requests are welcome. There are prayer jars on tables at both entrances in which you are invited to place prayer requests. You may also call or email the church office to make a prayer request. During the week, written requests will be collected and prayed over privately. At your discretion, such requests can be placed in the Sunday service leaflet. Prayer requests will be published for four weeks, then deleted unless you choose to renew them by contacting the Parish Administrator.
- Intercessors are stationed in the south (lectern side) aisle of the Nave during communion each Sunday. Please approach them if you desire a moment of personal prayer. All personal prayers will remain confidential.
