From The Pastor's Desk
Greetings,
As I write this I am sitting here in Summersville, WV. I'm here for our district assembly, and as I sit here I am preparing myself to give my pastor's report and thought it would be nice to share it with you. I would like you to know that I am blessed to be able to call myself your pastor at Winfield Naz.
Greetings to the West Virginia South District Assembly,
As I begin my fifth year at WinfieldNaz I am more on fire and excited than when I first came here. I am excited for what God has been doing here from the salvations happening to the baptisms to addiction recovery. We have been blessed this year and have truly been making Christ like disciples.
Our mission statement has been to: Connect with people, Grow in knowledge of God, and Live in holiness pursuit. These are the essentials to an effective church and Christian life we believe here and everything we do is found in these three statements.
Our food pantry has been a fantastic ministry this year servicing 870 families for a total of 3,053 people. Our addiction recovery has been a great ministry and has changed from group settings to individual counseling, which has become more effective. Our "be the church" Sunday where we cancel our service at our building and moving it to the main street here in town has been a great outreach. We also held out first hot rod and motorcycle Sunday show which was a wonderful turnout which set up the following week where we had revival with Rev. Steve Melvin. We were also able to send a mission's team to Clendenin last year to help with the flood recovery.
We felt led to change the format of our services to take our spring and fall Sunday night small groups and move them too mid-week. And what we were doing Wednesday (Theology 101, Teens, Children's) were moved to Sunday nights.
The church has been a blessing to my family; my wife Courtney is my greatest asset as she does the ministry with me. My children Ava 4, Carson 2. Have been spoiled by the church and adopted into many of the families.
With Love,
Rev. Abraham Williams
Senior Pastor

Let God Define Good
Nothing in the Bible would cause us to call a famine good or a heart attack good or a terrorist attack good. These are terrible calamities, born out of a fallen earth. Yet every message in the Bible compels us to believe that God will mix them with other ingredients, and bring good out of them. But we must let God define good. Our definition includes health, comfort, and recognition. His definition? In the case of His Son, Jesus Christ, the good life consisted of struggles, storms, and death. But God worked it all together for the greatest of good: His glory and our salvation.
At some point we all stand at this intersection. Is God good when the outcome is not? Do you want to know heaven's clearest answer to the question of suffering? Take a look at Jesus!
