TALK WITH CLAY BERRY, AUTHOR OF THROUGH A SHATTERED LOOKING-GLASS
ON SAT. FEB. 24 AT 2PM.

Berry will speak about his inspiration for writing his novel which is the first in a series of novels about a young woman named Tamara Baxter. The novel explores the impact of a child's mental illness on a family and avenues of coping. The novel reinforces the importance of community, faith, meaningful work and a new sense of purpose as essential ingredients in healing. Berry lives with his wife,Beth, in Wakefield, Rhode Island where Clay has served as pastor of the Wakefield Baptist Church for over twenty years.

HABITAT MANAGEMENT FOR POLLINATORS

The Friends of Canonchet Farm, Narrow River Preservation Association, South County Museum and the Maury Loontjens Memorial Library along with generous support from Trio Restaurant, are collaborating for the seventh year to sponsor the Winter Speaker Series On Pettaquamscutt: Presentations on the Environment and the History of the Narrow River Watershed. On Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, Gary Cassabona, Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S.D.A. will present "Habitat Management for Pollinators" Sponsored by Friends of Canonchet Farm. Beginning Knitter's Circle for ages 8 and up:

Knitting is fun!! No one is too young to learn to knit. This 4-week group is for beginning knitters ages 8 - 14 years old. It will include simple stitches like knit, pearl, cast on and cast off. We will also look at different types of needles, yarns and how to read a gauge. Come and have some fun this month. Registration is required.
