With the November 8th Mid-term elections just weeks away, and in-person Early Voting in progress and running through the weekend before the General Election, control of Congress is on the line. The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce, the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance, along with the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce conducted separate virtual interviews with the candidates running in the 5th Congressional District – which now includes all three Chamber organizations and the areas they serve.
As part of our ongoing charge of advocating for our regions and business communities, this joint-Chamber collaboration focused on topics and issues affecting us, from Wall Street to Main Street and across the globe. Topic areas included National Defense, regulation and taxation, workforce development, economic development, public safety, and public health. Questions were developed with input from each Chamber organization and suggestions from the United States Chamber of Commerce. Each candidate was asked the same questions with some questions being tailored to reflect incumbency versus challenger.
This exclusive, unedited content was organized and created to help better inform the membership of all three Chamber organizations, as well as their employees, clients, and those they feel would help inform their voting decision ahead of the November General Election.
