We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone for the Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce – the addition of our very first Realtor Member to our growing community!

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES THE BEST OF IRELAND

Time is running out and there are only a few spots left for our International Trip to Ireland!


The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce our first International Trip for 2024. We will be traveling to Ireland for Saint Patrick's Day! Departing March 13, 2024. Highlights will include Muckrose House, Cliffs of Moher, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, Wicklow National Park, Adare Village, Blarney Castle, Trinity College, Book of Kells, Old James Whiskey Distillery.


The cost is $3,599 per person - the deposit is $450 per traveler. This cost includes air fare, seven nights of hotel accommodations at 4-star hotels, 10 meals (seven breakfasts, three dinners), sightseeing and admissions per itinerary, and a professional tour manager. Shuttle service to and from the hotel is provided at an additional cost.

The Danville Pittsylvania Chamber of Commerce represents more than 560 businesses employing approximately 22,000 people in the Dan River Region. The Chamber is the premier advocate for business and industry in the region and projects a unified voice on key issues that affect the business community.  


Our Chamber believes that the success for both our region and the Commonwealth depends on investments and priorities that stimulate and advance economic growth and prosperity for businesses of all sizes. The Danville Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce respectfully requests our legislators support the following priorities: 


Business Climate and Economic Development

• Maintain Virginia’s current business climate and defend Right-to-Work, as this is a key to attracting and retaining industries and small businesses in the Commonwealth.

• Ensure rural broadband access, recognizing that it is an imperative for equitable opportunities related to economic development, telework, telemedicine, entrepreneurship, and education.

RIBBON CUTTING PACKAGES AVAILABLE FROM THE CHAMBER

PITTSYLVANIA SITE IS TOP CONTENDER FOR $100M BATTERY PROJECT

The Southern Virginia Megasite at Berry Hill in Pittsylvania County is the top contender for a lithium-ion battery manufacturing project that could top $1 billion in investments and about 1,500 jobs.


After a $100 million grant for the project was announced by the U.S. Department of Energy Nov. 27, 2023, Tennessee-based Microporous confirmed that it has been working on a deal to bring the operation to Virginia. The project would involve at least a $100 million investment and 282 jobs, the energy department said in its announcement. Microporous was the largest recipient among the department’s seven awards, which totaled $275 million.
