Saturday,October 14 from 11:00am to 6:00pm in the heart of Walnut Creek. Festivities will take place along Locust Street from Mt. Diablo Boulevard to Civic Drive and includes the cross street of Bonanza Street and Cypress Street. Presented by the 
Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau and
 Walnut Creek Downtown, this annual event is expected to draw close to 10,000 attendees from all over the Bay Area.

Leadership Contra Costa
Accepting Applications for the
2017 - 2018 Season

Sponsored by the Walnut Creek Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Contra Costa  (LCC), the Bay Area's premier countywide leadership program, accepts 25-30 individuals from throughout the county with diverse backgrounds to participate in the program. LCC is geared to people who want to make a difference in the communities in which they live and work. Topics include Health and Aging, The Price of Justice, Business and the Economy, Environment, Education, Social Justice, Government and Politics, and Housing and Transportation. 

For 29 years Leadership Contra Costa has been helping identify and prepare community leaders. With an alumni roster of more than 600 graduates, including Mayor of Walnut Creek Loella Haskew, former Mayors of Walnut Creek Cindy Silva and Kathy Hicks, former Assemblywoman Lynne Leach, former Concord Mayor, Lou Rosas; Martinez Mayor Rob Schroder; and Ret. Superior Court Judge Harlan Grossan, this program has proven to be an asset to the community and society.

The  June  BASH   will be hosted by   VICTORY WORKSPACE   ,1261 Locust Street in Walnut Creek on Thursday, June 29 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  The Chamber BASH is always a great place to make important business connections, hear first-hand what's going on in the community, and meet with chamber members, and other business leaders.   We hope to see you there!

Books to Banks - Members in the News
Walnut Creek Chamber member and past board chair Linda Rimac Colberg will be signing copies of her esteemed book Mount Diablo , The Extraordinary Life and Landscapes of a California Treasure , at a special free event  Wednesday, June 28, 6-8pm , hosted by Berkshire Books, 3480 Clayton Road, Concord. She will be joined by her collaborator, acclaimed landscape photographer  Stephen Joseph , as well as Rich McDrew & Rachel Haislet, authors of Mountain Lore, and Ruth Ann Kishi, author of Hiker's Guide to Mount Diablo State Park and co-editor, with Linda, of The Mount Diablo Guide, 3rd Edition. All four books were published by Chamber member  Mount Diablo Interpretive Association . Wine and light refreshments will be served at this celebration of life and landscapes. Hope to see you there!

F&M Bank  plans to open several branches in the East Bay, given the region's robust growth.   Farmers & Merchants Bank  of Central California , (OTC: FMCB) or better known as F&M Bank in areas where farmers are few and far between, has opened a downtown Walnut Creek office as well as building its flagship East Bay office on the site of the Target Garden Store, near the city's BART station. The bank is in negotiations on deals to open another branch in Walnut Creek as well as its first locations in Alamo, Lafayette and Saranap over the next year or two."A community bank has been needed in the East Bay," Kent Steinwert, chairman & CEO of F&M Bank told the San Francisco Business Times. F&M entered Walnut Creek a few years ago. Steinwert says customers are drawn to the bank for its high level of service, financial strength and local ownership of the bank's thinly traded stock, which changed hands Friday at $610 per share.

Where: Clarion Hotel, 1050 Burnett Avenue, Concord

The  Concord  Chamber of Commerce  will be the host of the annual  Eight-Chamber Mega Mixer .The Mega Mixer provides a great opportunity to expand networking circles and learn what's happening in our neighboring cities. Attendees will enjoy appetizers and sweet treats provided by member businesses of all eight chambers. The event typically draws 250-350 attendees from the eight Chambers.
